Wat Kaew Ko Wararam is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking 81000, Thailand
Wat Kaew Korawaram, also known simply as Wat Kaew, is the largest Buddhist temple within Krabi Town and one of the most prestigious in the entire region. It’s Located on a hill overlooking Krabi downtown, it is accessible via an entrance plaza and a massive staircase with nāga sculptures. It is one of the largest temples in Krabi, the temple dates back to 1887, Monks who arrived first to this district, established a dwelling which would become Wat Kaew Korawaram. The centre of Wat Kaew (opposite the actual temple) is Now Krabi Contemporary Art Museum. White color, dark blue painted roofs and the vast yards are the main characteristics of the temple. Inside the main hall there’s a golden sitting Buddha in Bhumisparsha Mudra position in a peaceful space. I went to the temple from Ao nang by a motorbike, it took about 40 minutes riding through an amazing & charming road. Going to the temple by motorbike is highly recommended.

I spent over an hour here watching the cute kittens plying with the interior of the temple and loved it. There was also a dog visiting for some time. The time spent was really worth it to cool down and just meditate for some time.
This is the biggest temple in Krabi town and you have to appreciate its beauty. It is free to look around / go inside. It is in the town area so if you are staying at one of the resorts like we were, it takes a bit of time and a slightly pricey taxi / Grab to get here.Lovely pictures to be had if you like to take photographs. You can get to the temple from two sides; on one side you approach the temple at the “hill” to the side and the other is to walk up the steps leading up to the temple. The view from the bottom of the steps looking up at the temple is very nice. There is architecture and art to appreciate both inside and outside the temple.
if you like it new and colorful, you will love this temple. it’s all new, with nothing of value, but with a hell of a kitschy painting inside. it is big, on the outside in reconstruction, and maybe a funny place for some pictures. that’s all.
The interior was not open when I arrived. You could only look at the outside. The Temple was very quiet when I was there – in fact I think I saw only one other visitor.Perhaps worth stopping at if you are particularly interested for religious or cultural reasons. But less for a general audience.There are some predominantly Thai-language information boards around the perimeter.
Small temple overlooking Krabi, we came across it by chance whilst visiting a market in the centre of Krabi. Only very small but worth a visit if your in town, don’t miss the statues of elephants and a tiger in the gardens on your left as you walk up the steps.
What incredible architecture, absolutely beautiful❤❤❤❤❤ well worth a visit. Super clean as is everywhere in Thailand. So many countries need to take lessons from Thailand and keep there countries as clean as here.
Bang smack in the middle of town. 8 flights of 8 steps (8 being a lucky number I guess). A gentle walk up and you can view the inside of the small but very ornate temple. Worth a visit if on Krabi town but not worth traveling to, unless you want to enjoy the night market or the much bigger and better weekend night market
Such a pretty, well maintained temple in Krabi Town. The paintings inside were unique and the artist was so skilled.
