Thoroughly enjoyed this visit. We had the headphone tour and for once it was really interesting, brought the visit to the house to life. Well worth a visit and the grounds are beautiful.
We arrived here during the family festival. The road to the main area is lined with the usual booths offering food, drinks, souvenirs etcOnce inside we were treated to a great display of flowers including orchids. Two of us did the tree top walk which was a bit intimidating especially if you are afraid of heights. We would definitely recommend a trip here.
We all enjoyed this visit at Doi Tung Royal Villa on Christmas vacation. This place opens all year but suggests for Nov-Feb the flower bloom so beautiful. Not only you visit the great flower blooming but also learn tribal traditions and cultivation. Well worth a visit and the grounds are beautiful.
Royalty with a heart for the commoners . Heart of gold . Learn the history of opium planters converted to planting flowers and fruits to earn a living .
We could not enter the residence because the Royal Princess was in residence but we toured the gardens and were enthralled! They are magnificent and worth any effort to visit.
The villa was the residence of late King’s mother who did a lot to improve the lives of the hill tribes .The design is a mixture between a Swiss Chalet and Lanna architecture.simple but very high quality design and finishes .Conservative dress required , long trousers provided for men .No photos allowed inside .Golf cart available at 1,000 baht per hour for those with limited mobility .Great gardens as well .
Lovely experience. We done the whole experience of the flower garden, museum and touring the royal villa. The villa itself is still amazing and they have kept the villa as the way as the late queen stayed in there when visiting the area. gardens are very well looked after and have many butterflies!
The Palace is also the Royal Villa, and mentions are equally applicable to the floral layout and extravaganza
The best thing about this is the gardens which are really pretty. The actual building will probably only appeal to Thais. You have exhibits of everyday things like spectacles and toothbrushes which may not appeal to everyone.
