I must admit that I expected better after not visiting this beach for a couple of years. The plus points are that it is a long sandy beach so you have a choice where to sit/swim. The vendors are still cheery and accommodating. I was disappointed with the amount of rubbish around and it wasn’t a pleasant site seeing so many old western men trying to cop off with younger thai women and boys!!!
We last visited here in 1988, dinner in an old railway carriage, and an expanse of golden beach that stretched to the distance. The beach still exists, looks a little narrower that 35 years ago but now has a backdrop of hotels, condominiums, restaurants, spas and no doubt other interests in the alleyways. A great area to unwinds for a week or more.
Nice beach and all not sure why so many bad reviews.. again with jealous people like man in relationship with ugly woman or woman jealous her man left her for younger woman keep your reviews to yourself no one care about you. The beach is beautiful and good food everywhere
As far as beaches are concerned, this is quite normal. It is best for people-watching and looking at the sunset. There’s a night market and some play areas for children. The sand quality is not that great and there are too many people for my taste. The biggest turn-off for some is that in some areas there are many sleazy old white guys going around trying to pick up very young girls and boys.
We came from Bangkok to find a beach is quite nice & not too busy, however, the sea is filthy with sewage & sediment floating on the top. Enter at your own risk!
Jomtien beach is well served by attentive parasol/bed operators and numerous vendors hawking their wares. After a while it becomes tiresome when some grab your foot. Unfortunately the sea and beach are getting buried under litter and whatever the tide washes up. Our last visit included stepping in thick crude oil. It’s noisy and unpleasant and I can’t understand why they commercial operators can’t organise a proper beach clea.
Nice hotel room was small but the rooftop pool and bar made up for that . easy walk to the beach and few bars .quite area we walked to the night market roughly 25 minutes away and had a grab back .ok if you just want pieces and quite .
The beach is absolutly awful with litter everywhere. We took our daughter on there and I was disgusted at how filthy it was with the likes of glass, plastic, cigarette and cannabis butts, along with pretty much everything else you could think of.Why can’t they position some bins along the beach or pay people to clean it throughout the day. Certainly a place I’d never visit again until it was cleaned up. Don’t waste your time going on it as you’ll be as disappointed as we were.
Jomtien beach is the best beach in Pattaya. It is far better than pattaya beach. You can enjoy absolute fantastic view from here and it is less polluted by water sports activities.You can get beach chair for 100 THB for entire day. Try water melon and coconut water there.
Always a very good area to stay. Many high and mid to low class condos to rent start at 4 weeks. Hotels too in various categories
