  1. This would be the best privately owned museum I have visited. Displays ranging from children’s toys to fine basketry and full sized Oxford carts.A lot of explanations in English is an advantage.A must do if you find yourself in town enjoying a non tourist destination.

  2. We visited the museum on our last morning in Phitsanoluk, and were very glad we did. Sergeant Major Thawee is a local man who hoarded “artefacts” from the local area, eventually setting up this museum which provides a great insight into life in rural Thailand from the last 50 years. Agriculture, home, childhood, religion, all were covered with information boards (in understandable English as well as Thai), pictures and a huge variety of artefacts.

  3. An eclectic and fascinating collection of items from everyday Thai life in the past. We were also privileged to meet Sgt. Maj. Thawee himself.

  4. Fascinating little museum full of bits of local and national Thai culture. Nothing life changing in itself, but nicely put together, with a range of different objects, artefacts, design and so on. Worth a quick look. Its only a short visit and you need to get a taxi there, its also opposite the bird museum/centre which (thankfully) is getting renewed as it is in a v bad state.

  5. Very good folk museum. Display ancient and traditional Thais lifestyle. Had a guided English speaking tour. Staffs were friendly and helpful.

  6. Nice private museum owned by sergeant Tawee who is passionately in love with Thai cultural and local wisdom. His amazing collections in old wooden buildings included many antique stuffs (like banknotes, lottery tickets, toys, ancient celadon wares, ect), gadgets that were commonly used in Thai old days (but totally disappear today), also provided some informations and presentations about indigenous knowledge (like Thai herbs, etc), local arts, local old house, tribes with their livings, old Thai fashion, old photos and some significant events in the past. There is also a little souvenir shop in the museum.Ticket costs 50 baht for both Thai and foreigner (yes, not bias). If you are in Phitsanulok and interest in local culture, this museum is “a must”.Thanks sergeant Tawee.visited on 28 july 2020

  7. A place full of history and worth visiting. Informative and well category with Thai and English narratives.

  8. This was an interesting collection of items from around Thailand. It would have been great to have to option of a guide or more complete English explanations. Overall I enjoyed it and would recommend it as a stop when in Phitsanulok. The coffee shop was a little over priced but right outside the gate is a woman who sells the most amazing buns stuffed with your choice from her selection. You gotta buy her buns.

  9. . A really impressive Thai museum, to be found right in the heart of Phitsanulok City, Northern Thailand.. Something for everyone, with a focus on showing a slice of local life in the province (and beyond), as experienced in bygone eras.. I really enjoyed the exhibits (ranging from toys, to household appliances, music players (including a ghetto blaster), as well as rural, plus military artifacts), that showed everyday lifestyle appliances that ruled our world (certainly mine), in the 1970s and 1980s.. An authentic travel experience and a wonderous place of interest. ✔️
