But how good we felt there! The temple is superb, especially the viharn located at the top. It is surrounded by an impressive quantity of different Buddhas, the staircase with the Naga-shaped banisters is magnificent. But above all: we didn’t come across any tourists! It is also the only place during our three weeks in Thailand where monks spontaneously came to us to guide us or simply to ask us where we were from.We arrived on a Buddhist holiday and therefore encountered many devotees as we left. Here again, several friendly exchanges with the locals. On this subject, a little general advice in Thailand: learn to say hello in Thai, and accompany it with wai. This will already earn you a very warm welcome from the start, even without knowing how to speak Thai. You will immediately see the difference in the smile of the people in front of you.To summarize, we are really very happy to have put this small temple full of authenticity on the program of our trip!
Pak Chong’s Hidden Buddhist Peak: If you’re in the area and reading this, don’t miss the chance to visit. ( รีวิวภาษาไทยนิดๆ ด้านล่าง )Nestled atop a secluded mountain in Pak Chong, “Wat Pa Phu Hai Long” – The Land of Liberation from All Delusions – offers a spiritual retreat unlike any other temple in Khao Yai.While the district is known for its vibrant wildlife and trendy cafes, this serene temple stands as a beacon of peace and Buddhist devotion. The temple’s most captivating feature is its staircase, lined with Naga-shaped banisters, leading visitors through a tranquil path adorned with an impressive array of Buddha statues.Among them, I recommend seeking out the Sīvalī statue, a revered figure in Theravada Buddhism, believed to bring good luck and wealth. At the summit, the beautifully peaceful viharn (main hall) awaits, offering a space for quiet contemplation amid breathtaking, endless views of the surrounding mountainsLuckily, I visited in the morning ( around 8:00 am) and had the opportunity to offer alms to the monks. Be sure to bring food with you, as the monks here still follow the Forest Tradition, eating only one meal a day.Affordable products, such as soap, shampoo, instant noodles, and inhalers, are available for purchase at reasonable prices. All proceeds go towards covering the temple’s utility costs.By purchasing these items, you not only receive something useful but also contribute to the temple’s upkeep, earning merit at the same time. With few visitors, this serene spot remains a hidden gem—don’t miss the chance to experience it for yourself.——-วัดป่าภูหายหลงตั้งอยู่บนยอดเขาในอำเภอปากช่อง ใช้เวลาเพียง 30 นาทีจากตัวเมืองและไม่ไกลจากรีสอร์ตศาลาเขาใหญ่ เป็นวัดที่พระสงฆ์ยังคงปฏิบัติในสไตล์พระวัดป่า น่าเสียดายที่ยังไม่ค่อยมีคนรู้จัก แต่ที่นี่มีจุด Unseen ที่น่าสนใจคือบันไดพญานาคที่สูงขึ้นไปยังยอดเขา ซึ่งมีวิหารอยู่ด้านบน วิวสวยมากสามารถมองเห็นภูเขาที่สูงเท่าๆกันโดยรอบไปอีกเป็นสิบๆลูก ( ไม่ได้ถ่ายภาพเยอะ เพราะกำลังหอบระหว่างเดินขึ้นครับ 555 ) ระหว่างทางขึ้นก็จะมีสิ่งก่อสร้างเป็นพุทธสถานต่างๆ ให้แวะสักการะผมโชคดีได้ไปใส่บาตรเช้า โดยจะมีการถวายอาหารพระโดยการประเคนอาหารแต่ละอย่าง พระสงฆ์จะส่งต่ออาหารไปเรื่อย ๆ จนครบ และคนที่เข้าไปใส่บาตรก็สามารถร่วมทานอาหารที่พระสงฆ์ส่งต่อเสร็จ พร้อมกันระหว่างที่พระฉันด้วยครับ
