Wat Phra That Khao Noi is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking Doi Khao Noi Doo Tai, Thailand
This temple is 3 km away from the city and located on a small mountain. If you have a car or motorcycle, you can reach the temple easily. For me, I walked up the mountain and, on the way, I found the long stories entrance with 2 long snakes. Actually it was so hard for me to climb, but finally I got it. From the temple, you can look down the Nan city with golden Buddha. It was fantastic! It is worth while visiting this temple.
We visited this place in the late afternoon (4pm). There were not many people here at that time so not many people getting in your way of a nice photo. You can park at the bottom and walk up the steps or drive the steep winding road to the top.You can see the whole of Nan city and beyond from there. Most people choose to visit at sunrise but can often be foggy so you might miss the views.
great views and very easy to access cold drinks available and obviously souvenir shops but no pressure to spend anything
First stop when we arrived Nan province is “Wat Phra That Khao Noi” on top of the mountain is a temple we can see the good top view Nan city especially before sunset. The temple close at 06:00pm but I still see the people running.Don’t miss this place, you will know how beautiful of “NAN”
Really nice place with good atmosphere. Silent around, not so many people, great small decorations and amazing view from the point view. One of the most important place in Nan
About 4 km to the west of Nan city, the temple is on the top of an approximately 200 m hill. Highlight of the temple is the 9 m standing Buddha facing the city. This is a very nice spot where you can see the panoramic view of Nan city with a distant mountainous background. Also, don’t forget to worship a pagoda that contains Buddha relics (hairs).
Start your visit to Nan with a trip up to this temple, its on a steep hill just outside the city and the views are fantastic. Food stalls and much needed drink sellers around the temple and the usual range of handicraft sellers etc. .. easy to get a bus or more likely a cab/tuk tuk up to the temple.. waling it would be quite a climb.
This temple and landmark statue overlooking Nan city is worthwhile visiting for some photo opportunities. Its close to the city and possible to visit here as part of a day tour to other parts around Nan city.
I walked here from Nan city as I saw it has a lovely view. I was not disappointed it’s worth the effort to get to. There is a lovely golden Buddha overlooking the city of Nan.
A beautiful place to be. The grounds were peaceful, and there are nice views. One section has a bunch of ceramic roosters laid out.
