This is on of THE FO in Bandung on my list I use to visit.. There are times that you Will find Nice items at fabulous prices… But also times, you Won’t find anything Nice… (Anyway, this depends on your own taste/style..).Try to avoid to GO to any FO shop during THE weekends, because BDG is THE weekend attraction of Jkt inhabitants. But THE first days of THE week are ok.Huge parking for free. Good food available at reasonable or better say cheap prices.
I go here every time I go to Bangkok. The Jim Thompson outlet has beautiful silk items at a fraction of the price of the Jim Thompson House. I have made pillows, Chairs, drapes out of the fabric I was able to purchase on the roll. It is so fun to bargain hunt in this 4-5 story building filled with Thai Jim Thompson Silk. Must go. I have even turned this fabric into bedding. I love it.
The outlet has a very limited assortment of goods. The prices are higher than in other stores selling silk/cotton products. Air-conditioned space.
This shop no longer exists! There is a small shop still at the Festival Shopping Centre but if you want material or a bigger range of goods you have to go out South Pattaya Rd to the wonderful Homeware Centre opposite the Big C. This is a big shop but not a sole here so not sure how long it will remain. I was looking for dress fabric and was quite disappointed. The material was mostly for furnishings. Take the taxi truck from opposite the night markets straight out to the end of the road and walk to your right until you see the Big C sign.

I purchased a medium size T shirt. There was no need to try it on as I have 10-12 other JT T shirts all medium and all a perfect fit. When I got back to my hotel I tried it on and it was ridiculously small. I compared it to my other JT T shirts and it was a lot smaller. It was quite apparent that the T shirt was a size Small with a Medium label attached. I took it back and the lady did not want to know. She produced a sign from the bottom of the counter statin no returns. She couldn’t be less concerned about the incorrect labeling. A waste of 750 baht but good luck for JT as they got rid of a worthless item for full price. Good old JT has seen the last of my money.
The silk patterns have a particular style so be sure you research to make sure you like the style before you go. I had visited previously (perhaps 5 years ago) and there were a lot of home and personal items that were both practical and pretty. I had bought 3 matching travel make up bags in different sizes and the quality has definitely lasted. I was so disappointed with the lack of choice this time around. Having said that, I still walked away with 3 travel jewellery bags for Christmas gifts. I just had to spend a long time finding what I wanted in fabrics that were to my taste.
