Pinehurst golf club is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking Khlong Nueng Khlong Luang, Thailand
night golf is great here as there is a night tee that is better maintained.do not expect much help from the night caddies are most are students, with no golf experience.wide fairway, with lots of water, should be enough challenge for most golfers.
Never miss at least 2 rounds at pknehurst whenever in bangkok. Course in much better conditions than 3 months ago, as usual the caddies were excellent, the greens behaved! Lights were good, all 3 nines were playing true, and the clubhouse staff as courteous as could be expected. Add to all that a very good restaurant and rather generous outlay in all the comfort kiosks on the course, which makes for a really good outing. Can be slow going at times because of the large numbers descending on the course on certain days, but craftily chosen tee off times can overcome that problem.
The course is in beautiful condition, and offers golfers of all standards a challenge, from the average duffer like me to the par player I was with. Food and drinks available at many places around the course to quench your thirst!
The golf course is poorly maintained since the flood years ago. It is sad to see them going downstream as it is a relatively good course to play in the past.
I used to play here all the time when the nearby old international airport was in operation. Tried it again after more than 10 years. Played it on a Saturday morning when I got up and felt like a game. Stood by and got on within 30 mins or so, joining 3 others. Thoroughly enjoyed the course. Recommend walking to enjoy the setting. Many palm trees. Pure escapism! Oh yes – crazy weekend low price for this quality course (usd85), not counting caddy tip. I’ll be back
I was looking for a reasonably priced and inexpensive round within easy striking distance from downtown bangkok. I very easily took the skytrain to the last stop, crossed the street then took a taxi here. I then rented shoes, clubs, hit the pro shop and got out on the course in short order. They shotgun the starts so I started on the 4th hole but it’s better than waiting around, The course was ok, not super buffed, but the greens were in nice shape and my caddy #303 was awesome! It’s okay value too with nice locker rooms which felt secure and good showers for after the hot and sweaty and rainy round. By the way, a massive thunderstorm rolled in after 11 holes and the clubhouse did not hesitate to provide what I thought was a generous refund. Very fair! Nice people, good service. Worth a shot. The only downside, if there was one, was you had to wait about 5 minutes to get a taxi to take you back to the sky train, but not big deal. They make it easy to get out to play golf and give you everything you need.
The title caught my eyes that the Pinehurst is known for its caddies. We have played there many times the past 2 years and yes on average, the caddies are nice and good but there has been occasion when the caddy was just average. This should not distract from the fact that this 27 holes Golf Club has its character and challenges. I have never failed to appreciate the kind gentleman who does the check in of bookings. He is always so helpful. I must remember to get his name the next visit. No doubt we enjoy reciprocal benefits, but my friends who played with us and pays the full price thought it was worth it. Yes locker room is a bit dated and need some urgent refreshing. But generally, staff members are courteous and kind. There seem a good community of Korean and Japanese golfers at this club. The foot massage seem popular. Yes it is a distance from Bangkok and whoa if you are caught in a heavy traffic. I will still go back and enjoy Pinehurst anytime. AND that review was dated 2015, too far back.
My hotel called the day before I wanted to play to ask for a tee time. We were informed that being a single player, I needed to come out and get paired up, no tee times offered for singles. We informed them that I wanted to play on Sunday, they said fine, come on out. When I arrived, the Bag Drop lady said they were very busy, I would need to wait, she said about an hour. This was fine, I would be able to warm up, get something to drink and putt a bit. When I checked in, they told me the same thing, about an hour wait, again no problem. I spoke with the starter and asked if I needed to put my name on a list, they told me to just get something to drink and wait. I used Google translate to make sure they understood what I was asking, they told me to just wait. There was a large tournament on the course and more tournament players waiting to go out, still they told me about an hour. After 2 hours I tried to speak with the starter, he said to wait and he would be right with me, he never approached me again. Finally a caddy noticed my frustration, she and I communicated with Google translate and she asked for me, I was told to try to come back the next day. I was leaving Thailand the next day so that didn’t work for me. I spend about 1200 THB on UBER getting to the course and back to the hotel. I talked to the people who initially took my money, after I explained my situation, they gave me a refund. No apology was offered, they didn’t care about my situation or inconvenience. I wrote an email to the course the next day, still no response from them after 10 days. There are so many courses to choose from in Bangkok, I have never had this type of experience. My suggestion is to find ANYWHERE else to play, avoid Pinehurst at all cost. They simply don’t care about the golfer’s experience and will lie to you to get you to the course.
Came to play here alone under reciprocal arrangement. No problem in allowing me to play alone. Paid THB700 for use of buggy and THB300 for the caddy. Fairways were good and well-maintained. Most of the holes have water hazards. Have to manage the course otherwise have to use more balls. Caddy given to me was pleasant and helpful especially in guiding my putting on the green. Enjoyed my game on the course.Locker and shower room is clean. If you need a taxi after the game, you pay THB30 to the guy outside where you pick up your bag to call a taxi in. Didn’t have to wait long for taxi.
Very nice course, well maintained, very friendly caddies. Bring balls because there is a lot of water everywhere. Lighting from 6 p.m. Things to do in Bangkok
