Very enjoyable experience where you can hire skates and protection for your head, joints and hands. The rink is not air-conditioned and is open to the outside heat, and in spite of the large fans overhead you should still expect to perspire, depending on one’s level of exertion. It is child-friendly and also suitable for beginners, since there is a length of artificial grass to one side where one can get used to moving on the skates. Furthermore, there is the opportunity to try out some skateboarding should you care to do so.
I am an avid inline skater and roller hockey player. I skate at least 6 days a week. After a few weeks without skating, I had to check out Roller Dome. There are some shortcomings but I give it a 5 star rating because this place actually exists in Bangkok for all to enjoy. Appears to be a great place for kids to learn. Great for families and they have rental equipment. As a foreigner, but acclimated to Hawaii weather, it was still plain hot. Covered area so no rain issue, but open air venue. Be ready to sweat. The frames of first pair of rental inline skates were mis-aligned. Got a second pair but the setup was “rockered” which I think was intentional. But not sure if staff knew it was not a regular wheel setup. Strap was also cut in half so I could barely buckle it in. Generally, management needs to work on the maintenance of the skates. Bring your own skates if you have them. I still rate it a 5 because Roller Dome provides a place for the skating community in Bangkok. It’s a place everyone can have a good time.
