Ku Bar is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking 469 Prasumen Rd 3rd Floor, 10200, Thailand
A couple minutes walk from noisy Khaosan road, Phra Sumen road recently has became a hub of cool shops such as cafe, brunch restaurant, ice-cream shop, hostel. But I’m here to tell you about a hidden cocktail bar which totally different from other ones around inner Bangkok. Ku Bar hides itself on the right hand side of jazz bar called Brown Sugar. There is no sign at an dark entrance, all you have to do is getting into an empty building and straight to the third floor, Ku bar is behind a wooden door.The bar has less than 20 seats(most at counter bar and 2 small tables). The decoration is far from the word luxury but it’s completely cozy in a strange good way. Airy space with nude walls and weird lighting installations, with a vinyl player with smooth tunes. Currently they offer 7 signature cocktails from 350 to 380 baht, while classic ones cost 380. As a local, I would say many cocktail bars in Bangkok apply local ingredients into their cocktails but most of them do it with western perspectives, while signature cocktails at Ku Bar show that the bartender has a deep understanding on local ingredients and how locals consume them in everyday life, then adapt those to the cocktails. That makes the drinks totally different from others. Highly recommend
Secret cocktail bar upon jazz bar. The seats are limited to around 20 seats. It is better to call for reservation. Otherwise you have wait outside until they are available. It is not a bar that you can go and shout out loud. It is good to go for paying homage for the cocktail. The bartender are skilful, creative and trained from Japanese bar. So you can imagine the ambient On weekend night there are soft and avant garde music playing. Apart from cocktail the space has some interesting art installation as well. The cocktail is well created and crafted. The menus changed every quarter which depends on local ingredients. The menu does not give a lot of choices but well enough to order. Apart from given menu you can place special request according to your preference. If you have ability better try all in the menu.

Modern bar with simple decor, tucked away in a non descriptive soi off main road. Some basic rules apply like no standing or shouting inside (meaning, keep your voice down). Menu consists of signature cocktails, liquors (3rd floor) and natural wines (2nd floor), food and snacks are available as well. Did try two cocktails and have to say, these were one of the best I had so far in Bangkok. Quality comes with a price tag though, so don’t be surprised. Will be back soon.
Really hidden bar. Top floor is a cocktail bar and below is an amazing wine bar. Fantastic atmosphere and super friendly staff. Prices are prey high but indefinitely recommend to visit for a glass of wine to hide from the overall Bangkok madness.;
We went there on Saturday night. We had called for a reservation in advance, so we got a table. We would like to change to sit at the bar, so we asked them to notify us when the seats were available. Later on, there was a big group of new customers coming in and asked for a table. – We offered a bartender our table, in case we could switch to be at the bar. The bartender said it was ok and told us to move. – But it turned out that there was no seat at the bar. We had to stand for a very long time, with a little apology (without proper eye-contact) from a staff.- No other apology such as complimentary shots, snacks or any discount was offered to us. While the table next to us was offered the complimentary shot for no valid reasons. Service needs to be improved.
Great drinks! However, very strange that as a group of 4 who had spent $350 at the restaurant below (owned by the same people), we were not allowed to sit at the bar in a manner which we wanted (on the corner). The Thai “owner” told us that it was his way or the high way. It really rubbed my friends and I the wrong way; what a shame. The bar tenders and the drinks were spectacular! We also got the pleasure of doing our own bill which was interesting…

It’s incredible! Especially if you are a bartender! The entire space, drinks, preparation – it’s like experiencing theatre. I’m a cocktail nerd and I loved it, my partner just likes a good time and thought it was so awesome. It’s a calming space truly a speakeasy vibe. I don’t want to say more because half the fun is the surprise of how perfect this little place is.
