Kata Surf School is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking 83100, Thailand
I was recommended this surf school by an Australian Director of a big hotel in Patong. Alex and his team offer an incredible service. Basically if you pay for a 1 hour lesson you get surf board and rash vest for the entire day. This was my first lesson, my girlfriend and I both decided to try as this school was very busy. Watching from The Boathouse poolside, we could see the popularity.The lesson was amazing, they basically hold the board for you in the surf, get you to ride small waves and offer alot of great tips. I was basically standing after 20 minutes as were all other students. The boards are high quality, long boards.
I had enrolled for a 3 day course and the guys are nothing but helpful and super knowledgeable. They are open all day from early morning to 7PM. The guys basically teach some tips and basics of the surfing. They’re very approachable and friendly and there’s no other place that I’d go to when I come back!
The guys and girls here are very friendly, helpful and generous of their time inc hiring boards.Plenty of spots along Kata to do surf lessons, or simply hire boards etc and we’ve had a great experience with all inc Kata Surf School down in front of The Boathouse on Kata Beach.*Great with kids too.

You can get an hour long private lesson for < 30 USD and I went from never surfing before to standing up and catching waves. Would highly recommend.
Good instruction, patient and well organised. Used WhatsApp via the website to arrange….very easy. Booked for my son and daughter, after just fifteen minutes daughter decided it wasn’t for her…..so they were happy for me to take over….good fun but tiring. They took plenty of photos on a good camera at no extra charge. My son did well and was allowed to use the board for some extra time. Great experience.
Thanks for the cool lesson for two from Sharif!!! Excellent teacher, time has passed by unnoticed…! And also photos were taken, sent as a gift, for this price it is just the most luxurious service, highly recommended!! Came without an appointment, we were accepted straight away, drinking water, sunbeds, rinsing water, board rental – all inclusive. Storage bags too) Have had great fun!
