  1. Wow, wow, wowzer. Never seen something like this before. The long trip to get there from Bangkok was worth while it. This rocks are just phenomenal. Fantastic service there as well. No fee to get into the national park but one can get a pick up truck for 500 THB who drives one from sight to sight. Or walk it. If you fit 10 people on it its 50 TBH a head. Tour guide / driver was super nice and gives information to the sights. The tour takes 2h with the pick up truck. I believe the mornings are the best. Sunrise is obviously the best time to be there. It might become a new tourist attraction for foreigners as soon as the borders open again. So you might visit this place rather earlier than later.

  2. Decided to come visit this place as we were really near the area. The trip was definitely worth it.Superb unobstructed view absolutely breathtaking. Highly recommend to visit if you are near this area.

  3. Don’t miss out on this one if you’re in the area. Register at the starting point and you need to hire a pickup&driver for 500THB. Can accomodate 1-6pax, so if there’s only the 2 of you you might try to team up with other guests (as we did). (Very) Bumpy rides take you around the area. The rocks are really amazing and offer a fantastic view. There are some food stalls & souvenir stalls at the starting point.Strongly recommended.

  4. This is a must see place. The unique rock formations are like 3 whales: a mother, a nurse and a baby. We were there at sunrise with about 300 people and the view is amazing, including the misty Mekong in the middle distance. The road to base camp is quite good and then a 4WD pickup takes you to the top for 20 baht pp. Same for coming back down but they will take you to see a few interesting sites along the way. Did I say it was a must see?

  5. This place is so breathtaking I’m surprised it’s not more well known. The “3 whales” are 3 gigantic rocks sticking out of a cliff: the Father, Mother & Baby Whales. Visitors can walk out on the Father & Mother, not the Baby. The Father protrudes out furthest and is the narrowest, but strangely it’s not as vertigo inducing as the Mother which is wider but with sloping sides so you are aware you can slip off and fall 300 meters to the valley below! Photo tip is to stand on the Father rock & let someone take the photo from the Mother rock. The rocks are part of a national park complex that has other beautiful spots too, like Elephant Rock, etc. At the ticket office you can rent an entire pickup truck for 500 baht (driven by the park ranger guides) and they have designed stops along the way.

  6. This place has an admission fee. Upon registering your name and phone number at the counter and paying the entrance fee, there will be a pick up truck to bring all the visitors up (subject to seating capactity at the back of the pick up truck) to see the various sights in this place, including the 3 whale rock formation. Hence, solo exploring of this place is not allowed. The highlight is of course, the 3 whale rocks. They are called, father , mother and baby whale rocks as they resemble the whale. You will be able to walk along the father and mother rocks but the baby rock is not accessible.

  7. These rocks really do look like 3 whales. You have to pay for a truck ride up. Overall the length is about 2 hours with all the stops at various view points. The 3 whales are the main attraction and a great spot for photos. It’s windy up there so hang on to your hat! The “child” whale is too narrow to walk on but you can walk on the “mother” and “father” rocks. There are no guard rails so proceed with caution.

  8. Well this really is = ‘ Amazing Thailand ! ‘ 🤠🐘🐋🌄🪨Three (3) Whale Rock ‘ Hin Sam Wan ‘ ( หินสามวาฬ ) at Phu Sing, Bueng Kan, Issan, is another ‘off the beaten track’ Issan Thailand tourism icon … I got up at 530am, so as to be there by 6am, for the very special sunrise scenes. As the name suggests, there are three (3) whale shaped rocks, large, medium and small.I walked along the large rock, but choose to settle on the medium sized whale, in the middle of the formation, to catch the sun rising over the province. It was a surprisingly chilly Saturday morning the day I chose to check it out, but my spirts were warmed by the friendliness of my guides, as well as the welcomeness of my fellow ‘on the rock’ tourists. Also had a chance to check out other look-outs, including the curious Elephant Stone. It was another awesome day in Amazing Thailand, that I will long remember and fair to say, that visitors to to Bueng Kan, really must try go and see the 3 Whales ..

  9. This is an impressive geological formation, quite unique and something not to be missed when in this part of northern Thailand. It lies in a park where you are taken along some other formations where all sorts of animals are imagined: lion, elephant. It requires some imagination. Entrance is 100 baht for foreigners and 20 baht for Thai. A pickup can be hired for 500 baht, regardless of the group size. The three whale rocks itself are massive rocks protruding into the landscape, two of the three you can walk on to enjoy the view. It takes about two hours to see everything in a quiet pace. The access is easy and actually some of the YouTube clips present it as something scary, which it is not at all. As long as you stay within the boundaries.
