The good- 3 suits for well under $1000. Shirts around $35.They took a lot of measurements. I’ve had several suits made in the U.S. and also from a Hong Kong tailor in NY (he sends the info to HK, they make the suit and ship it back to him, and that kind of sucked). These guys actually measured around my arms. Most tailors seem to just make wider sleeves for no reason. My arms are relatively big but still the sleeves were narrower, which is better. They made the inside and kind of built the suit on me, rather than quick made-to-measure suits. It took them (only) five days to get the suits done, plus 4 shirts. They are friendly and open a lot of hours. They didn’t charge extra for real buttonholes and one is stitched in a different color (which I asked for). I did ask for a button upgrade but they said no, they use plastic buttons- if I want to replace them with mother-of-pearl or something else I’d have to do that when I get home. The bad:The first fitting (one jacket and one pair of pants- from different suits! Why? They say they have a jacket ‘factory’ and a pants factory and they’re different). They fit okay so then they made the other four pieces. Which didn’t fit the same and had to be altered a couple of times. So if I’d been there only 3 days I’d have had to get them fixed at home. And because of that alteration (taking in a shoulder) the pattern on the left doesn’t quite line up with the pattern on the right. You have to get close to notice and I doubt most people even would, but that’s a consequence of not getting it right the first time. The pants were too long. I asked them to shorten them. They said once they do that, they cut them off so they can’t be re-done. I said no, don’t do that.Good thing they didn’t because when I got home I realized the pants were WAY too short (like 1.5 inches). My local dry-cleaners redid them and said they used all the material that was left. Admittedly I was wearing boots when they fit me but that shouldn’t make a difference, certainly not well over an inch. They claim the material for the suits was wool and cashmere (two suits) and wool and silk (the third). But they haven’t given me the info on the manufacturer so I can’t get the percentages (or even confirm this). I’ve emailed them twice with no response.I also asked for 3 shirts. They made 4, claiming I’d asked for a fourth in a subsequent conversation. It was sort of a claim at a language barrier issue but I figured it was kind of a con though I can’t be sure. I said I didn’t need a fourth shirt so we haggled. I didn’t push too hard because $30 is not bad for a shirt that fits.I had mentioned Egyptian cotton and they said that’s what they use. I think if I’d said cardboard they’d have said the same thing.I forgot to ask if it’s no-iron cotton. It’s not- they’d never heard of that. So now if I wear them I have to get them laundered. All my other shirts (probably forty) are no-iron cotton.I also forgot to ask about the collar style until the next day. They said it’d be a cutaway collar. I said no, don’t want that, so they made regular collars. Good thing I asked. When I got home I realized there was no boutonniere hole in the lapel of the jackets. I guess it’s something I was supposed to ask for? Every other jacket I own, off the rack or custom, has this. It’s standard.I also said I wanted an Italian style suit. They said that’s all they do. But no, it’s a rather structured suit, with much bigger shoulder pads than I’d wanted. Kind of too late to correct that. I imagine that whatever someone says, they say yes, that’s what they do, then just make ‘a suit.’Also after getting the suits dry-cleaned and wearing one once I noticed a thread WAY sticking out of the middle of the back of one jacket- and a barely visible line where the thread was pulled from. I was afraid to cut it- I took it to my dry-cleaner, they took a tiny hook and managed to pull the thread, from the inside, back into place. I don’t know why the thread came out- whether it got caught in dry-cleaning or whether it’s a fabric defect. I’m glad they were able to fix it.As I said I’ve emailed them twice to ask for more info, with no response.I think in terms of quality and service I’d give them 3.5 stars, but with the prices being so low I’m fine with 4. I do suggest that if you want to have clothing made (and everywhere you walk in Bangkok there’s fifty guys chasing you to sell you custom suits) that you make sure that you can pay with a credit card and that you’re there at least five days.
Thank you for an easy and smooth transaction. Years after my trip to Thailand, I still order from this awesome tailor and have the suits delivered to Canada.
I made 3 suits with Alex, he was very friendly and predisposed, and gave me an excellent price and in the agreed time. The quality of the costumes is very good and I can’t wait to start wearing them. I recommend it without hesitation. Thank you very much for everything
My friend and I bought a suit with them 4 years ago. To this day, I use them. We received excellent service from kind and just professionals. Sure, the next time I come to Thailand I will come to them because of the uncompromising quality
When visiting Thailand I had the opportunity to purchase a good quality suit at New Armani and Mr Daniel was both attentive and professional in providing a great customer experience.A few months later I purchased a second suit with them and got it per mail delivered fast and reliably to my home address.I do recommend their products and services!
This is another great tailor for those staying on or near Khaosan Road. Very great fit and the price is the best in Bangkok. Alex is great at making you a great deal on a suit. It was such a good price that I bought two new suits from him.I’ll definitely be ordering more. They keep my measurements so I can easily order new suits from home and get them shipped to me.Great work!!!
I was wearing one of the custom made shirts yesterday, and the more I wear it the better it fits. So nice. The shirts also match the blazers very well. I’m a very satisfied customer 🙂 thank you, Alex! 😊
Went to Thailand for vacay and New Armani was next to my appartment. Went inside and bought a few suits and a couple of blousers. The service was great, guy helping me was really gentle and the suit had a proper fit. When home i ordered again, shipment was also great. Besides that, the guy helping me was really fun 😁
