Patong Stadium Muay Thai Gym is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking 2/59 Sai Nam Yen Road, 83150, Thailand
This stadium was one of he better in Patong. Less tourist focused and seemed to more serious. Cost was lower than the other closer to city center. Unfortunataly many of the pictures in the reviews is from another stadium at Bangla road also called Patong Stadium. This one at Sainamyen is quite different having a circular banner hanging over the boxing ring. A very big place with a lot of action. Refreshments are taken to your seat when wanted.
Second stadium we have visited in Patong. This one is more organised and you get a free t shirt. You can buy drinks and snacks within the area. Great night out but it can be a little brutal. Free transfers to and from your hotel when you book. I will definately be going back.
They have walk-in personal training sessions that cost 500 baht for 1.5 hours, which IMO is extremely cheap. I got to train with an ex-pro Muay Thai fighter, and it was an incredible experience. It felt super authentic, and I learned so much technique! Beware though – even with kickboxing experience, I wound up with huge bruises on my legs that needed to be iced later that evening. I would have gone again for another session, but my legs weren’t up for it. :(I went back to watch an actual fight, which was also an incredible experience (this coming from someone who has never paid to watch any sporting event). I was worried the stadium seats would be too far, but it was the perfect distance to watch, as I got to see all the action but none of the blood that the people in the VIP seats saw..
Definitely a must while in Thailand. Not for the faint hearted though. We had VIP seats for like $1620. Excellent seats.
WOW…this was an experience I won’t forget. Glad I did this as it was worth doing once. The stadium itself is a bit dated but still functional. I wouldn’t pay the extra for VIP seats as it’s not justified. There was a range of fights between 13yrs boys to young men, experienced professionals and even professional women matchs. It’s real and a little confronting. The drinks a either served by a waitress to your seats or from the bar, at reasonable prices.
This was an experience you will remember. We bought the ringside tickets which are definitely worth it. The tickets included return transport from your hotel, plus a free muay thai shirt. The venue is well staffed with plenty of staff to get you drink or some food so you don’t miss any of the action. We watched 7 fights all of which were entertaining with 5 out of the 7 resulting in a knockout or technical knock out. The night is best enjoyed if you don’t mind watching combat sports and can finish anywhere from 11pm – 1am.
Probably not the best place for you if you aren’t at an advanced level. I was only given 2 rounds on the pads with trainer. Advanced fighters are given more time. The trainer only worked on my strengths on the pads and not on my weaknesses. Some trainers are good here. The female trainer spent some time with me on kicking techniques. I ended up spending maybe 45 mins on the heavy bag. The fighters here though were helpful and gave me instruction.
Safe, fun and challenging, suitable for beginners to advanced. Trainers havegood English and coaching skills and adjust to your skill level. You can choose from twice daily group training 500b or private lesson 800b
Chips were so deep fried they put me off chips. They ran out of popcorn. So I went to a local 7/11 store to buy snacks only to be told I’m not aloud them inside. Make sure you eat before you go and book your tickets online to get 10% off.
