  1. It was an amazing adventure from the minute we stepped on board. Dennis and Tik are so friendly, they run the show and are the dive masters, that I want to go back just to listen to their stories. I learned more about fish and reefs then I have on any other boat. 3-4 dives a day, 2 islands visited and explored. Turtles swam with us as we snorkeled Donald Duck bay. Food was a nice variety, plentiful and delicious. If you have room in your luggage , the people on one of the islands can use anything you want to give. They can use clothes, pens, paper, lotions, make up anything you want to give them. I bought some lovely wooden rays and mantas from them. Rochelier Rock is as amazing as people say. We saw Harlequin Shrimp cutting a starfish leg for dinner- which I learned from Dennis is their food. I will return someday.

  2. We did a 2 day 1 night liveaboard on Mv Lapat boat. We booked through a different company, but they were partnered with Similan Seven Sea Club. We had our own instructor (via the other company) and the diving was amazing. Leaving this review based on the boat, and staff of Similan Seven. The liveaboard was great! Boat was clean, rooms were comfortable. Scuba gear and practices were efficient. Everyone was kind and respectful. The food was delicious. This was our first liveaboard and we were very happy with the boat. Unfortunately, our final experience was receiving our shoes back after the speedboat. They took them from us on day 1, saying “no shoes on the boat” and there was no communication what would be done with them. We are backpacking and they are our only pair of shoes, but we went with it because we trusted the company. It would have been nice at this point to be informed where they would be stored or given the option to just keep them in our bags and not wear them on the boat. This did not occur. When we arrived back to shore today we found our only shoes (running shoes, not flip flops) soaking wet and covered in sand. This is not the condition we left them in. It’s extremely frustrating and disappointing as had we known this we would have put flip flops in the bag or kept them with us. Instead, the fine sand is in our shoes and it is too late to dry them as the sun is down. As I mentioned, we are backpacking and we have a travel day tomorrow that now we will need to do with soaking wet shoes. This leaves a lasting impression on your dive company, who did not treat our items with respect and now have made our travels extremely inconvenient. All it would have taken was some communication and respect for others belongings. It is really too bad, as Tom worked his hardest and gave us such a fantastic experience the entire trip, but the last 5 minutes of frustration, annoyance, inconvenience, and disappointment is our final impression of the company. I am leaving this review as I do not want this to happen to other guests as it is ridiculous and completely unnecessary. Please adjust your communication and care of others belongings accordingly. Similan Seven would have been given a 5 star review until the final 5 minutes of our trip that ended on such a negative note. We are extremely disappointed to have our belongings treated without care or respect.

  3. We had a fabulous time on board Camic with Denis and Tik. There were only 7 of us divers and it was a blast! Right from the start Jamie (No Trouble Just Bubbles) was super efficient booking our very last minute trip and I’d highly recommend booking a dive trip with him. The dive briefs were informative and funny yet safety was very important and Denis honestly wants everyone to have a good time. He and Tik are so knowledgeable and enthusiastic, amazing to be so cheerful and keen after so many years doing this. On board the crew were fabulous! The Boat Boys were so so helpful and sweet, wish I could speak Thai. Food was amazing and tasty (maybe a hot plate to keep it warm?) The cabins are small but you don’t spend much time in them. However a couple of hooks would be useful to help dry towels and don’t take a big bag, there’s no room for them!! The beds aren’t the most comfortable, admittedly, but there were no bugs so I was happy plus en suite and AC was a bonus. All in all a fabulous trip, amazing diving and friends for life made. 🙂

  4. So I have been diving around the world and extensively in Thailand. This dive experience with the crew at Similan Seven Seas Club were exceptional in both their diving expertise as well as hosting a group of new friends for several days together. The boat was not luxury and we didn’t expect or want luxury. It was a good dive boat with comfortable accommodations for two people per stateroom and lounge areas in the galley and top deck. Plenty of comfy spots to spread out and get relaxed after a dive. The food was great and special preparations were made to accommodate vegetarians. The food was soooo good and special thanks to the chef. She kept us well fed and happy. The dives were well organized and here’s where Dennis, Tek and Isi shine. They know the Similan dive sites so well that they know where to look for the good stuff. See my picture of harlequin shrimp for a teaser. All are very safety conscious with every dive, and let me not forget to mention that all the equipment was relatively new and very well maintained. Dennis is a certified instructor and several people became advanced certified on the trip including mixed gas cert. Loved this live aboard experience !!

  5. We had a wonderful time spending 2 nights and 3 days on the Lapat with Seven Seas Club on a snorkeling trip. Our snorkeling guide, Ricardo, was fantastic. He was super friendly and was brilliant at pointing out things to us. He is a great free diver so could go down to the coral bed to make sure we knew where to look. We can’t thank him enough. The staff on the boat were also excellent. They were all very friendly. The trip was run very professionally and we felt looked after and safe the whole time. The first day we visited Koh Bon. The visibility there was unreal and the amount of sea life we saw blew our minds. We highly recommend planning your trip so you have a day at Koh Bon. The next day we visited islands 4, 5 and 7. 4 and 7 produced a very fruitful day where we saw turtles, an octopus, many Moray’s and more. The ocean was crystal clear and lovely to snorkel in. The final day the visibility wasn’t as good, however, we still managed to have a great time. The evenings on the boat were great. Very quiet and we spent our time staring gazing and watching the storms in the distance. The ship was very clean. Our room, although small (of course it small it’s on a boat) was comfortable for the two of us. The only forwarings we would give are:1. On Sunday night the ship goes back to the pier to refuel etc. This is done at night. It didn’t bother us so much and we managed to not be disturbed but if you think you will have trouble sleeping on a boat while the engine is running, don’t stay on the Sunday night.2. You arrive at about 10am but your room won’t be ready until 4pm so pack the things you need to snorkel/dive so they are easily accessible during the day, as you won’t have a room to unpack in.3. If you suffer from seasickness, it’s unlikely you will feel unwell on the dive boat. However, the speed boat that takes you to the dive boat is a bumpy ride so better to take some tablets in preparation for that ride.We were initially apprehensive about doing a snorkeling stay aboard on a dive boat but it was absolutely fantastic. We got to see so much more than if we had gone snorkeling from the beaches or had done just a day trip. We would highly recommend it. We’re already planning our next trip!

  6. This was our first live-aboard diving experience, having only dived 10-15times previously. Communication during the booking process was smooth and quick, with all questions answered clearly. Communication at the dock and on the boat initially was less clear- just be prepared to go with the flow a little bit! However, once you’re on the boat and after your first dive, you definitely get into the swing of it!! Briefings are clear and the dive sites are fab. We went to the Siran national park, Richewlieu Rock (definitely include this- best dive in our limited experience, great coral, micro and macro – huge Travelly, Spanish mackerel and Barracuda as well as thousands of coral fish), and Koh Bon.The accommodation (pictured) is basic but comfy- good AC. There are two showers on deck and three in the toilets to wash off. Soap and shampoo supplied on the boat as ‘coral friendly’.The food is fab! Plenty of it- we had brought snack and crisps onboard just in case, but no need! The food doesn’t run out and there are snacks or a meal after every dive. They were attentive to our vegetarian diet and my husband’s nut allergy (we were ‘those people’ but not made to feel like we were making a fuss!).I completed my Advanced PADI onboard. Once we had paid the link to PADI e-learning came though + I completed the two compulsory e-learning modules. I had already completed Deep and Drift adventure dives, so we then did navigation, fish ID and boyancy on board. Which optional dives you complete will be up to your divemaster, you can complete the other e-learning once you’re back on land. As a first, less expensive experience of live-aboard diving, this was a great trip!

  7. We had an unforgettable experience on the 2-day, 1-night liveaboard trip with MV Lapat on January 7th and 8th, 2025, celebrating our one-year wedding anniversary! The trip was seamless, allowing us to enjoy six dives in two days. While I snorkeled, my wife alternated between snorkeling and free diving, making the most of the vibrant underwater world. One highlight was spotting a sea turtle during a snorkeling session—an incredible moment made possible by our guide, Time. He understood my apprehension about deep waters and helped me feel safe throughout the experience. Another standout was Shane, the main Thai crew member, whose warm, positive energy created a lively yet organized atmosphere onboard. Sebastien, the French scuba instructor who traveled with us, consistently checked on my seasickness and shared helpful tips, offering gentle guidance throughout the trip.A magical part of the experience was sleeping on the open top deck of the boat instead of our cabin. Far from city lights, the starry night was breathtaking—we saw multiple shooting stars, including one stunning meteor that burned across the sky for several seconds and split into two trails. It was a moment of pure wonder. The boat was clean, the meals were delicious, and the schedule was well-planned. Watching the sunset on the first day and waking up to the calm ocean the next morning felt like pure bliss. The crew’s professionalism and warmth truly elevated the trip, making it an anniversary we’ll cherish forever. If you’re considering a liveaboard in the Similan Islands, we can’t recommend MV Lapat enough. Between the incredible underwater sights, the amazing crew, and the magical nights, it’s an experience you won’t forget!

  8. Once on the MV Lapat our experience was at best, very poor. This view was mentioned by 2 other people we got to know whilst we were there…The cleanliness was abysmal, even for a dive boat – The mat in our room looked like it hadn’t been washed in months, the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned in a very long time either – there was a pile of human hair on top of the drain in the bathroom floor, a brown substance all over the basin, and it really stank. The food was, although regular and plentiful, easily the worst we’ve had anywhere in Thailand. The standards of the dive guides was also concerning at times – pre-dive planning rarely happened and buddy checks weren’t even suggested!! (The exception to this was the Argentinian lady, who was thorough and very attentive).

  9. Overall, wouldn’t recommend this company’s MV Lapat Snorkeling 3D/2N live aboard. That said, it is one of the only companies we found that offers guided snorkeling, and the snorkeling was really good!Pros:Great snorkeling, varied sites, repeatedly saw as much if not more as fellow divers on each snorkel outing — sea turtles, sharks, myriad of fish and corral.Staff was friendly, snorkel guide was very competent and went above and beyond to accommodate the snorkeling group’s varied skill levels. Crew was well organized to drop/pick up different dive and snorkel groups, clean, prep and manage different groups on board for 3-4 dives each day.Food was good, basic Thai offerings.AC in cabin worked great.Beautiful scenery, sunrises, and sunsets, picturesque dive spots, great visibility, crew tried to time dives to avoid crowds and rough water.Cons:Communication leading up to boarding was not good, so we didn’t know what to pack or bring, what to expect, or specific itinerary. The boarding experience was confusing and hectic, with divers boarding for day and overnight trips, many different companies and boats all doing the same thing at the same time at the dock.Once onboard, it was frenzied. We weren’t able to get into our cabins until the other guests left in the afternoon, so luggage had to be left in the hallway, changing was done in one of the tiny shared bathrooms, no towels, etc. This could have been improved by some information provided prior to manage expectations. We would have brought snacks and liquor/wine (there was beer for purchase) and other amenities had we known what was/not provided/available.Horrible value for the price we paid, especially when they ran out of some food, there were cockroaches in the cabin, at the food serving station, and in the kitchen, cabins were dirty and fetid, and no place for bag storage in the cabins. I paid double to have a cabin to myself but didn’t get double of anything — bedding, food, etc.I really enjoyed the snorkeling and Similan Island experience! Compared to other live aboards I’ve been fortunate to have done in Vietnam, Maldives, and Turkey, this was by far the poorest value for lack of organization, professional service, and overall operations. Do your research.

  10. I did their four day live aboard trip to the similar islands on the MV Camic. We did a total of 14 dives. The Dive master and all the employees on the ship were very kind and accommodating. The accommodations and room were very good. The food prepared by the ladies was excellent. Dive site selection and overall was excellent. I would recommend This company for diving in Thailand. They’re very professional and well run operation.

  11. We were traveling with the Camic, a boat of the Similan Seven. The good one first. The crew was very nice. Unfortunately, the ship is very! old. We had booked a master cabin upstairs. Unfortunately, the bathroom was a disaster. The sink hung out of the wall, at the shower the whole staff of the shower holder met us immediately, the bathroom smelled musty of wastewater and the water of the shower was cold, but we were offered to repair it.The shower of the bidet was sticky dirty. Since the boat was not fully booked, we were offered to swap the cabin and move into the lower deck. That’s what we assumed. Unfortunately, sleeping there was not possible. The cabin was very noisy and the ride was very restless. So we decided to use the lower bathroom and sleep upstairs. The covers were uncovered nylon blankets (really disgusting). There were no references either. So we covered ourselves with a towel. The rooms were not cleaned during the whole trip (5 days 4 nights), even the bathroom. Furthermore, the dining tables were not cleaned. Everything stuck. Rinse with cold water. In the kitchen, the staff left the leftovers open at night. The cockroaches were happy. Actually, the ship isn’t bad at all. It would urgently need regular cleaning and maintenance. That’s how it degenerates. To the diving areas: Unfortunately, they were all overflowing. Thanks to Greg, he makes it possible to take the last dive later at Richelieu Rock. Finally many boats had left and so not so many divers were on the rock. That was the most beautiful dive!I couldn’t upload any photos. It would have been an overfull bin in the bathroom, a dirty bidet shower, a sink with cold water, but also a beautiful manta.

  12. I travel with Camic few times. It was on different time of the year. Every time I wonder how they keep Camic in such a good condition.Simple liveaboard, warm crew and above all professional. The dives are well organized and safe.I’ll come back to Camic.

  13. Had a very enjoyable time on the 3 days/2 nights trip . All the staff were very friendly and our snorkelling guide Ed was very helpful and enthusiastic, Shane who welcomed everybody and organised things on the boat was also great. . We packed 4 snorkels into a day when possible. The food was plentiful and there were vegetarian options. The underwater world was fantastic with an abundance of reef fish, some baby sharks and green turtles

  14. Two weeks ago we did a 3D2N Liveaboard on MV Lapat and never have I found it so difficult to decide on a star rating. After a lot of back-and-forth, I’ve settled on 2 stars. There were positives, but unfortunately, the negatives were too significant to ignore.First, the good:The crew onboard MV Lapat was wonderful. Super attentive, kind, and always ready to help. The boat itself, despite some negative reviews online, wasn’t as bad as we expected. We stayed in the master cabin, which was small but clean. The sink was barely hanging onto the wall and the tap didn’t work, but hey— we managed and had expected even worse.A standout feature was the modern diving platform. It was really convenient and made gearing up and entering the water really easy.We also had a private divemaster, who was friendly and tried his best. However, he openly shared that he had taken a long break from diving, and frankly, it showed. On one dive, we stayed super shallow—not because of conditions, but because he had ear issues and wanted to save himself for the days ahead. Understandable, but frustrating when you’re paying for a full dive experience. Now the negatives:The trouble started before we even boarded. Check-in at the dive shop the day before was the worst we’ve ever experienced. The staff at the desk barely spoke English, and there was confusion about the gear we needed vs. what we were charged for. Because of the language barrier, they called the (Dutch) owner—who, oddly enough, ended up being even more difficult to talk to than the Thai staff. We’re Dutch too, so we initially thought communication would be easier, but it was the opposite. He was vague, slow to respond, and strangely disconnected. When I asked if our divemaster was informed about my mild disability, he literally stared blankly and said, “Sorry? I was dreaming—I wasn’t listening to you at all.”Uhh… what?!It made us seriously question the professionalism of the operation, but unfortunately, we had already paid in full and couldn’t back out.We also asked for advice on whether to choose nitrox or air, depending on the planned dive profiles. No clear answer. Just a generic, “Yes, yes, you can do nitrox.”Right. But should we?We chose nitrox just to be safe—but then found out our divemaster was on air the whole time, so it ended up being pointless.Once we were picked up on the morning of the trip, things did start to feel a bit more organized. The staff helped accommodate my disability and made sure all our gear was in place. For a moment, we thought maybe we had just been overly worried. But then the negatives came back again.First came the food. When arriving on board the crew asked who was vegetarian or did anyone have any other dietary wishes. I told them that I was a vegetarian and they said they would cater for me. Luckily I’m really flexible with my dietary wishes while traveling because if I would still have been a strict vegetarian, I honestly would’ve gone hungry. Besides there not being decent vegetarian food (no vegetarian protein; only rice and vegetables) the food that was there was easily the worst we had in Thailand. The food was bland, lacked variety and was often cooked way too long. You can understand my frustration having to eat meat against my principles that was not even good.As for the dives themselves… honestly, a bit underwhelming. It’s hard to say whether it was the sites, the conditions, or just the conservative dive planning due to our DM, but nothing really wowed us. Sites like Chumphon Pinnacle near Koh Tao felt far more impressive in comparison.—Final thoughts:The boat wasn’t terrible. The crew was lovely. But the overall experience—from the dive shop chaos to the mediocre dive sites—just didn’t deliver the kind of magic we’ve had hoped for our first liveaboard experience. It could’ve been a great trip, but too many things just felt off. Wouldn’t book again.
