The Cave Bar is a very special bar run by a very special lady. It’s my second time in Chiang Dao, and I happened upon it the first time I came. Thankfully, it hasn’t changed at all and the bar is as great as ever. Chilled and local with a mix of interesting expats. It seems to attract great people who are always warm and welcoming- It’s somewhere I would make a point of coming back to.Tip: ask Buppa to make your margarita – they’re fantastic!
Super nice bar in Chiang Dao, I was there for 2 evenings, and both of them were super fun! You’ll meet random tourists or guys living around, having a good time, good drinks, and the most important, the owner is super nice, she makes everyone happy,. If you are in Chiang Dao, I would definitely recommend stopping by this bar! There are also games around! E.g. a pool table, nails & hammer, Jenga, and much more 🙂
I rented a honda click scooter with Buppha, the owner of the cave bar. All her bikes are in mint conditions, her english is excellent and she s super friendly. She was super patient with my girlfriend and I as we kept extending our trip down to Pai and returned the bike a couple of weeks later. Prices were on point too ?. I ll definitely try to come to stay at her cottages. They were all full this year, will try my luck again by january 🙂
My girlfriend and me had such a great evening in the bar. We didn’t plan to stay long there, only for some pool games, but after that we talked a lot with the owner, a very friendly and funny lady. Later we sit together with people living around the bar and other tourists and had a really good time. I would definitely come back when I visit Chiang Dao again. PS: Be careful about the owners pool skills ?
The word bar in the name of this place doesn’t do it enough just; it is so much more than that. Be it a drink, food, renting a bike or motorcycle, getting laundry done, accommodation or a chat you need, this place can make it all happen. All made possible by lovely heart warming people run it. So there simply is no reason to not go here when you’re paying a visit to Chiang Dao.
Fun bar with great atmosphere. Great welcome. Good home Thai cooking. Pool table was fun to use. Spent a few evenings here on our recent visit.
We visited here every night we could during our stay in Chiang Dao. Buppha and the Cave Bar has given us memories we will never forget. I celebrated my birthday here and Buppha just made my night so special. She bought me a birthday cake and laid on rounds of shots, we played games and chatted until the night was over. I cannot recommend enough going to the Cave Bar when in Chiang Dao. How you can cross paths with strangers and yet have such a laugh so quickly and make memories that will last forever. Good beer good food and amazing company. We also rented a motorbike off Cave Bar which was reliable and reasonably priced. Thanks for everything 😀 Candy and Charlie
Cave Bar is a must visit place in Chiang Dao! We met the owner at a cafe and she took us on a hike and afterwards to her bar. She made Chiang Dao one of our favorite places we have traveled to. Boopah is so kind and the bar is very fun and cool. When you go, definitely try some of her homemade liquors, they are so good.
One of those delightful surprises that occasionally come the way of the intrepid traveller. I wandered up the hill on my scooter looking for a beer and something to eat and found myself in an amazing place, hosted by the delightful Bhuppa (sp?) and having conversations with strangers that were suddenly dear friends. Food’s great, beer’s cold and you can help yourself to youtube to play the music you like. A great space peopled by lovely characters who invited me for the coffee and time together the next morning.
