Full disclosure: I’m not a party person. But I can appreciate a fun environment with tonnes of happy people. I had a couple of buckets (one were alcohol free and the other had like an entire bottle of vodka in it, you never know witch one you get) and mostly strolled around looking at people and fire shows 🔥 Everyone seemed too have a great time dancing and drinking. I hear there is an abundance of drugs, but I can’t tell you from experience. The beach looks beautiful from a short distance with all strobe lights, fires and all the people dancing. And also, neon colors are super fun even if you’re not a party animal. It’s a fun way to represent your country for example 🇸🇪
Terrible music, filled with drunk people whom littering seems to be a priority. DISGUSTED,wouldn’t recommend to anyone who is environmentally conscious.
If you are in Thailand and have enough time this is a must, once a month in KohPanGan is celebrated this huge party named Full Moon Party and arrive to this island thousands of travelers to enjoy it.. Better if you stay a few days after then you can enjoy the quiet beach+ Amazing island, you can spend even a entire week here, near to KohTao and another islands. Good Restaurante’s and amazing hotels for a good prices aroundMe advice: Book in the center just for the party, and around the other days
Arrived at 11:30pm to Haad Rin beach. There were drunk people already stumbling out of the beach. Lots of people crowded in front of several stages along the beach – some good music and enough space to dance. Made our way along the beach, north to south to check out the entertainment. Exciting fire performers – v hot! Shared a bucket between 2 people, slightly tipsy but nowhere near the drunkenness required for the party – wanted to pace ourselves! Got some food at 1:30 – stalls only really serving chicken burgers/pizza (BBQed cardboard) and kebabs – hit the spot but nothing special. Returned to find silence on the beach as the music had finished at 2am – we were expecting it to continue until sunrise – don’t be fooled! There was an after party at another beach (1000 baht pp) so decided against it. Headed back to the hostel around 3am. Taxis are expensive during Full Moon season so beware, taxi drivers don’t barter and charge a set price per person so sharing transport doesn’t save money. Overall, good to have ticked it off the list but don’t divert your travels to coincide with the party.
I stayed in koh samui and travelled across using a company called mr tu. avoid like the plague. Taxi was an hour late. The promised large ferry was a speed boat which we had to wait an hour to get on. This is all fine and expected if a large event the real issues happened on the way back.5 hours of waiting in a queue where random people would be able to push in front due to being from a different company or just Thai meaning what should be at most an hour wait is elongated to at least 5 hours. We should have had a taxi ready for us when we returned as is booked. This is not the case when we finally arrived back after 5 hours of waiting we were advised a taxi would be another 3 hours. So we just paid for one of the many local Taxis’s nearby. Good night. Don’t bother with this joke if a company for transport. Disappointed to say the least. The actual moon party was fun. But completely overshadowed by the disastrous journey we paid to have. Once again avoid if at all possible the worst company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with.
One of the big five Partys (Events, Frestivals) in the World. Wild, free, not organised, great, amazing, natural, unregulated and huge. One the Partys you should have seen. You also see a lot of celebrities there. They told me Elon Musk was there, Naomi Campbell and Ewan McGregor. I saw the Rapper Mr. Gentleman and the artist Michel von Tell there.
We saw some guys who had passed out with their money pouches were open. We were walking on beer bottles on the sand, the entire night. The fire shows spew fumes into the air. The food was oily fried and over priced. Even the poor full moon disappeared before midnight. But the Vibe and Music were great. We had a great time. #soberravers
I don’t recommend this solo. It isn’t so safe. Beach wasn’t as big as I expected. There was no full moon decorations apart from the firePeople were jumping fire skipping rope There were fire dancersOver crowdedCave trust the alcohol. It is known that spiking is common. I asked for a smaller bucket with a closed lid. Lots of owls had their phones stolen. We all knew to be careful but you can’t keep touching your phone 24/7 and it disappeared quick to a few people. Just drunk people everywhere. The music was good though. There were different stalls playing different music. The sea everyone pees inI got charged 40 baht to use the toilet wtfDrinks were cheapI only had two drinks because I heard bad stories. I wouldn’t do it again cuz if the safetyHostels were so expensive that night, 2000 – 3000 baht. Lucky they let me sleep in the lobby cuz I couldn’t pay itNot my vibe personally. I learnt that I like smaller parties so next time will just go phi phi. It is over hyped
Thailand Full Moon Party is known for one of the craziest parties in the world and it happens once every month on Full Moon Party. It is attended by thousands of visitors and locals. It happens on Haad Rin Beach on Koh Phangan Island. The property rates are very high during this time and it is recommended to book in advance. I booked my stay at nearby island Koh Samui and then took a ferry. The ferry costs 500-600 TBH one way and if you have stay far from the ferry point, it can cost another fortune. So I would recommend to do all bookings in advance and plan in a way to save on these costs. Entry fee to the party is 200 TBH and everything is kinda costly there starting from the drinking water. The party starts around evening time and goes till early morning. There are multiple DJ stages and fire shows throughout the beach. People can get neon paints on themselves and buy bucket full of alcohol to drink. The party is quite fun to attend. If you get tired, you can relax on the beach. The return ferries to Koh Samui starts at 12 and goes once every hour.
