We did the elephant bathing – Bangkok Day tours was amazing to work with and we (my wife and I and our 5 children [ages 11, 9, 5, 3, 9 months]) all had the best adventure. Would definitely recommend and already planning to do again.
The tour guides were amazing, specially Po, they picked us straight from the airport and started the tour, it was amazing to say the least
My husband and I took this tour together. We are celebrating recent retirement and our 39th anniversary this month. We would give this tour 10 stars! It was simply amazing. Sally our tour guide and Tom our driver made the day so pleasant! The floating market, River Kwai, and lunch were fabulous. And then there were the elephants! New respect for those who care for these wonderful creatures! We rode on them, we played in the river with them. It was one of the best days of our lives. Thank you for the great memories!
This had to be the most amazing thing we did while in Thailand! Our guide, Sally, and our driver Tom were absolutely perfect when it came to arranging all of the things we wanted to fit in in a short period of time. We visited the river Kwai, had a wonderful lunch, visited the giraffe sanctuary, where we fed them, and then went to the elephant sanctuary to ride elephants in the jungle, and then into the river Kwai! There are no words that can explain how wonderful this tour was, and I would highly recommend it to everyone visiting the area.
Anzac Day 3 day. P/up & d/off BKK hotel. 3 people in minibus + Tour leader & driver. The tour was great, including dawn service at Hellfire Pass + Kanchanaburi service. Hotels + dining excellent + plus R Kwai, train. Nothing was a problem & Leader had everything organised. Could not beat this IMO for the cost. ??
DO NOT DO THE ELEPHANT RIDE!! The entire trip was great up until the “elephant sanctuary” Sally and Tom where great! The safari was awesome. But arriving at the place to bathe elephants left my heart hurting. My sweet elephants name was Bella and once they put me on her neck I noticed she has 3 new semi bloody gashes on her head and lots of scars. I thought maybe she cut her head on some branches previously as on our walk she was grabbing trees and pulling them down and that i dont know the history of this elephant so i just brushed it off. But it wasn’t until I started watching the video that was taken with the elephants that I noticed the handlers behind us had sharp tools and were jabbing the elephants head when the elephant was dunking us. (The dunking was unexpected as no one said what was going to happen) you dont actually get much time with the animal. I FEEL TERRIBLE AND THIS PART OF THE TRIP LEFT MY HEART SORE! I really wished they used an actual sanctuary. I tried asking our tour guide Sally what the same name was and she said it was chiang mai but when I tried to find it online I couldnt but it was in kanchanaburi and was a 45 min drive from the restaurant.
We’ve done a lot of trips, and this one was one of the best. The elephants are fantastic and getting to bath with them in the river was magical. The trainers were all great and clearly loved their elephants as family members. The tiger feeding was so much fun, we couldn’t decide which to go with so we petted a baby lion, and fed a baby tiger and leopard. The bus was soo comfortable – large captain chairs for everyone – they even went out of their way to pick us up and drop us off at our families house in the suburbs.
These gentle giants will capture your heart and you will be thrilled to feed them. If you ever had reservations about an elephant’s gentleness this trip will enlighten you.
