  1. Did the slow ,cheapest boat full of backpackers whom,as the trip went on got drunker, and drunker until their grand finale at the end of the second day,a loud ,rowdy and offkey version of Neil Diamonds ‘Sweet Caroline,….wtf?Highlights, the whole trip, lowlights, the random hotel I picked in Pakbeng where, when I woke up in the morning there was two inches of liquid on the floor of my room, and the human corpse that floated past our boat the next morning, causing two girls to freak out, running up to the boats captain pointing it out to him causing him to shrug his shoulders and say”so what”!

  2. The organisation and attention to detail of this tour was superb. The boat was immaculate Our Guide, Xaiyoung could not be faulted and the hostess on the boat was amazing.Free good quality coffee, tea, cold water and fresh fruit were freely available at all times. Snacks and other cold liquid refreshments were available at very reasonable prices. The buffet lunch on both days was delicious.. definitely amongst the best I have had after a month I’m Thailand.Definitely a Yes!!

  3. Picking this particular boat cruise was the best decision to travel along the Mekong River. The tour guide was very helpful during the two days we travelled along the river, as well as when we booked the tour itself. The family on the boat were so lovely and the food they cooked for lunch on both days was amazing! We chose to stay in The Sanctuary hotel for the night in Pak beng and it had the best view of the river (the price of this was included in the cruise total price). The weather was bad on day 1 so we only had a short stop to a small village but on day 2 we visited the whisky village and the Pak ou caves before arriving at Luang Prabang where a minivan was arranged to take us to our chosen hotels.Highly recommend this trip to anyone visiting Laos or Luang Prabang specifically.

  4. Fantastic experience loved being on the Nagi boat to Luang Prabang and shared this with some great travellers . Our Guide was great lovely person and all the staff looked after us .Highly recommend this !!

  5. Excellent communications for the booking via email. Tickets were delivered to our hotel prior to our arrival. The boat guide was smiley and knowledgeable. Food was delicious. The whole trip was comfortable, very peaceful and chilled with incredible views of the mountains either side and village life. We heard lots of horror stories about the other companies and were so pleased to have chosen Nagi.

  6. JANUARY 22 2025PAYED 187 USDProsOnce on board thing where good .Nice crew .nice host… good lunch CONS20 minutes late picking me up for the boat and with only 10 minutes to departure…stressful For 2 days (4 emails) I ask what was the name of my overnight Hotel .Got no response After the day on the boat we were given a ride to our hotel the BKC Hotel S HOLE accommodation Under construction Dirty inside and outside View from my room was the back of the ofrestaurant toilet and area where the pot and were washed on the ground 2 young boys running around and screaming until 9 at night Barking dog late at night My room was very dated, flaking paint on walls .smell of must and dirt .bathroom sink ready to fall off Not a VIP Hotel Book with someone else

  7. We were so unsure about this experience. We read reviews of the slow boat and it didn’t sound like our thing. We found a travel agent in Chiang Rai (Jill @ Pause & Be Travel) who suggested not to take the lowest price boat as people sit in the engine room or stand BUT to take the Premium Boat. About $170 pp. We were picked up from hotel and taken to Thai border and smooth sailing through. Then picked up again and driven to Laos border – DEFINITELY get an evisa before you go (about 5 days prior) and print out a hard copy as it will save you a ton of time inline (most on our boat did not). Then shuttled to boat. Then the real fun and relaxation begins. Comfy boat with a beautiful breeze. Plenty of places to move around, chat with guests and relax. Our guide was Xayphone who was absolutely charming, told us about sites we were passing and stopping to see. For our overnight in PakBeng, we booked directly with Sanctuary and it was wonderful! Got to enjoy the beautiful sunset, gorgeous room and delicious dinner. Then the next day on the boat we went to a Buddhist cave and whiskey/craft market. Absolutely wonderful experience with some truly lovely people. Sabai Sabai!

  8. Myself and my partner booked the two day slow boat from Thailand into Laos through Nagi of Mekong instead of opting for the public boat and we don’t regret our decision one bit!! The whole trip was brilliant. The trip was very well organised and such a relaxing experience, a special shout out to our tour guide Tick! She was fantastic, she had great knowledge of all the things we visited and saw and was also very funny!! Communication organising the trip was great. The border crossing from Thailand to Laos took a very long time but nothing the company can do with this and would recommend staying on the Laos side the night before to avoid – all visa documents were dropped to our hotel the night before so we had nothing to worry about on the day. Lunch was provided and was tasty along with free tea and coffee. Lots of space on the boat and the stops at the local villages and the cave were a great way to break it up.Would 100% recommend and the views are just incredible.

  9. We were fortunate to have an exceptional tour guide, TIK from Laos, whose in-depth knowledge of the diverse tribes and their histories enriched our experience. TIK’s authentic leadership and remarkable communication skills brought a heartfelt connection to our journey, making it truly memorable.
