This club was my second home and secondary office for a two years period. There’s a café as well as a restaurant with a decent choice of Thai and Western food. Both have free Wi-Fi and are usually not crowded, so it is possible to spend the whole work day there and mix it up with sports activities. There’s an incredible range of things you can do in this club. Gym, squash, badminton, tennis, boxing, swimming, sauna, jacuzzi, a golf simulator, etc. etc. Reservations are usually not needed except for the tennis courts. There used to be climbing but the climbing wall unfortunately burned down. There are a few annoyances: It is impossible (at least for me) to get any relaxation at the swimming pool because of the many flies buzzing around and the increasing number of children’s swimming classes accompanied by shouting farang teachers. Also the staff at the restaurant is not very attentive. Also, a one-day ticket is required to do anything at the club. This ticket is 425 Baht / 525 on weekends which is expensive if you just want to play squash for an hour. The price of the yearly ticket is just a small amount higher than other fitness clubs in Bangkok (e.g. True Fitness), however there’s a LOT more value for the money in RQ club.In total, I’m still giving RQ club 5 stars because it is miles ahead of every other fitness club I ever visited in Bangkok.
The managers are visiting me and they indicate the wall which is being manufacted off site should be finished in January 2015
The gym is extensive — pool, tennis, rock-wall,dance, etc, but the area I was most interested in — weights and cardio — needs an upgrade, especially for a gym that considers itself to be high-end and exclusive. We bought a day pass and was quite happy with the pool and the crowd (nice people), but the cardio equipment is a bit ‘last season’ (esp compared to new Virgin down the road). Overall, could be a SUPER gym if they invest money into it and upgrade many of the facilities.
If you like racket sports (tennis, badminton, squash), climbing, swimming pool, then it is the right place! They offer all that and more (yoga, fitness classes…). It is possible to by a long term pass or just a day pass, the day pass is worth it if you spend half a day there. It looks a bit old but I did not find other places offering all those sports in Bangkok. I think there is a discount if several people take a membership at the same time.
if you are a looking for great gym, tennis courts , nice big swimming pool this is a place to go .a Day pass very affordable. To play tennis is better to have a partner, but the club have a list of players looking for partners and knockers Very clean shower and also have a sauna…
Racquet Club is big. Straight up. It is also old. Big and old. This was my lasting impression. And over time, big and old have given rise to “impressive”.White guys are here. Expats, not tourists. Massive Thai guys, too. Babes make an appearance – although not as regularly. While this has all the facilities, it is not the place to be seen.Climbing walls are fun, and the instructors are very kind and speak English well enough to teach little farang children.Any racquety fun, TTC has you covered. Sexy gym, probably go elsewhere.KACHING TIP: TRC are also all out top sports for opening their walls to Guavapass members.
We were thinking about joining the Raquet Club as we live very close. So my 3 teenage children wanted to do a free trial. They signed up on the website which unfortunately does not say that processing takes a week! My children would have had to pay 1500Bt for one hour without equipment! Staff was very unhelpful and rude. So sadly definitely not a place to become a member ….
TRC is a great place if you want a big training facility including swimming pool. The equipment in the gym might look a bit old. But everything is clean and working just fine. So for people more concerned with the training instead of taning selfies it’s a great place.Friendly and helpful staff plus a nice atmosphere makes TRC a really good place for gym, work out, swimming, climbing and of course all kinds of racquet ball-stuff.
Could be a very good place, unfortunately all staffs are very unfriendly and unprofessional. Once they start to know you and you don’t tip them. They become cold. The equipment store is not to recommend to go to, recommend the shop in the beginning of Sukhumvit 49. Lots of foreigners there daily but still no English speaking staff. Be friendly to everyone, not only the “long term Thai members”. They should have daily pass and one hour pass. Who wants to pay for a full day if you only go there one hour? They should have promotions and also shorter options membership. Especially when many people come here for a week or so.
