Quite and nice place to come. Eventhough it’s quite far from central Bangkok but it’s worth it. Go to Ladprao MRT and take taxi about 30 minutes to this place. The staff will help you to call taxi back to Ladprao MRT.It’s a private place that open for public, better you call them in advance to plan for coming.A helpful and kind staff guide us and make excellent explanation for every collection (sorry for not asking g her name before). We came @ 28 of June and my kids love it so much. Thank you for having us there .
Though located quite far from the public transport access, it’s for free and the collection is amazing there – many sculptures, interesting pieces of art. If you are staying for some time in Bangkok, I would definitely recommend to visit it
The Bangkok Sculpture Center has been on my “must visit” list for perhaps a year after reading an article about it. My partner and I finally got to visit yesterday, and we were knocked out by the experience. We hadn’t booked in advance, but we were given a guided tour by a delightful and highly knowledgable young woman. Sermkhun Kunawong’s collection of sculptures is a priceless asset to Thailand’s artistic repertoire, and has been lovingly put together, beautifully curated, and passionately displayed in an unusual and attractive building which also houses Khun Sermkhun’s company offices. What a glorious place to work! This important collection includes some wonderful ancient religious images (housed in a stunning room), and progresses through early 20th century figurative works right up to the present day. Many of Thailand’s National Artists are represented here, including some of my favourites.Although the location is a bit of a distance from the city centre, it is well worth the 30 minute drive to get there (taxis are easy). You may want to call ahead (number on their website or FB page) to make sure you don’t go when they are doing a school group tour or suchlike.Highly recommended. Together with MOCA and the BACC, the Bangkok Sculpture Center now joins my list of favourite art locations in Bangkok. A truly wonderful experience
