A landmark in the Chatuchak district, this tower is one of the most distinct and unique buildings in Thailand. The three towers make up the shape of Thailand’s national animal. See it from a distance for best impact.
Even though i didn’t get in because apperantley, on sunday it’s closed, so no one can take you up, it really is an impressive building, just like a statue. i wouldn’t say it’s highly recommended if you don’t have much time in bangkok because it’s pretty far from everything, but i would recommended photographers to visit it.To get there, take the MRT to Phahon Yothin station and from there if you don’t mind walking a little bit, go towards phahonyothind and ratchadaphisek junction (opposite of Mo chit BTS station) and it will be visible when you are there.
Hotel located in good place less than 20 mins walking to union mall and central plaza ladprao. There were not no slippers in the roo. Room was clean but facility was old. air condition was so noisy I could not sleep at night. Breakfast was good. I think if we don’t consider air condition system everything is good as a budget hotel.
Something really cool to see but nothing to write home about. Because elephant play a significant part in Thai culture, the building becomes significant. Best seen from far, I missed the design a number of times as I was too close
I stopped by December 2016.As I was in the area while out and about on my scooter I took the opportunity to stop and take a few photos of the fun/unusual building… as you do !!
One of Bangkok’s cool unique buildings. Even if you’re not into architecture, the elephant building is something to marvel at. The building is located in the northeastern area of Bangkok, and not really worth your time to go out of the way for, but if you’re in the area, be sure to have a look and a photo!
The location currently is with road construction, the BTS sky train. Best not to use LardPraow road. use Ratchada road. Hotel dining area is large and spacious
Three white towers representing the back legs, front legs & trunk reaching to the ground of an elephant joined across the top making the elephant’s back. The front tower has horizontal features representing the elephant’s tusks and large round windows the eyes. You may catch sight of it heading into the centre of Bangkok along the elevated tollway on the left hand side from Don Mueang Airport. It’s an architectural curiosity worth looking out for from a distance if in the vicinity but not necessarily a destination to be visited. Better to look from the outside – no reason to actually visit there.
Do not go there if you expect to view the city from the top floor. The concierge does not let you go up unless you are a hotel guest and have a hotel key card. You need this key card to access any floor in the buiding. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS LANDMARK.
