This historical park is located about 2km west of Suphanburi city. The collapsed pagoda, leaving only the base, was excavated in 1962. Based on its architectural structure, it was rebuilt twice, from the Tawarawadee period before the establishment of the Thai nation to the U-Thong regional state period before the establishment of the Ayutthaya dynasty, and the current pagoda ruins are believed to have been built before 1746 B.E. (1403 A.D.). The pagoda, which broke in the middle, is large by modern standards, with one side of the base being about 30 meters, and it is estimated to have been 70 to 80 meters tall when it was built. The time of its construction and its current state are somewhat similar to Wat Arangnik in Phitsanulok Province. It boasts a grandeur that rivals the ruins of Ayutthaya and Sukhothai, and the area around the moat surrounding the pagoda is currently being developed as a historical park.
