  1. For foreigners like myself the most interesting aspects are the building itself, the magazine corner with some free English-language newspapers and the free computers. The book collection is mostly Thai and not very impressive yet. There’s a small exhibition about the HM King Rama IX on the third floor, and lots of books about the royal dynasty. It’s a good place to escape the heat and find some calm. Baggage storage and entrance are free, but you have to give them your passport to get in.

  2. Read about this city library before I set off to Bangkok. The library was right next to Khaosan Road. As tourists, we needed to first register with our passports at the information counter. The inside of the library was more European than Thai. It is not huge, but stylish, spacious and comfy. We don’t know the Thai language, and there’s only a limited collection of foreign language books, but we still like the library a lot. There are quotations of the King on the wall, and we understood better why Thai people admire their King Rama 9 very much. I wouldn’t say it’s a must-go to everyone, but if you are a book lover and are nearby, then it’s a good idea to spend some time here.

  3. As a foreign guest, you will need a passport to register for free entry.Small collection, but lovely set up an a whole floor dedicated to young readers.Cafe, free computer access and refreshing washrooms Building style nice to see

  4. Quite and convenient not much people at the moment so seem like this place could be my working space for me. Freelancer definitely love this place

  5. Housed in a wonderful restored historic building, the new Bangkok City Library (opened a year or so ago) is a great addition to the city. Clean and cool, the library offers modest collections of books and magazines, and a fabulous array of nooks and corners to sit and relax and read. Lots of computers for free use. Mezzanine level is all devoted to kids books and reading areas. Not many English-language books, but enough to interest most people. Admission is free (as it ought to be for all libraries!); visitors are show an ID to obtain a 1-day pass.

  6. If you happen in the heart of Bangkok near the Grand Palace or Khao San road, please do drop by this place. This old building was renovated by keeping its elegant design structure and interiors. There are 3 floors where each contains different style of books. Magazine and newspaper are on the ground floor as well as a coffee corner.

  7. Pleasant air-conditioned public building with comfortable seating and internet on Ratchadamnoen / Khaosan. Foreigners are welcome (bring your passport) to access limited facilities e.g. 40 minutes WiFi. However you can not use the library’s computers or borrow books if you are not a member. You need to be a citizen or resident of Thailand to register as a member (yearly fee 50 baht). There are very few books or magazines in English.

  8. I’m totally into libraries and this one was great. Just show your passport at the information desk for a guest pass.Cool: quiet, air condition, clean, spotless bathroom, free WiFi ( just ask at the information desk for login info)Not so cool: I had a backpack I had to turn it in because it was to big. Only 1 hour of free WiFi.

  9. I love libraries and I wanted check this one out. First attempt I couldn’t get in cause they ask for passport and I didn’t have mine with me. Second one they didn’t because I was wearing a tink top. Since when Thailand is conservative? Even in turkey they don’t do that. I honestly found it ridiculous its 40 degrees outside and there are millions of people visit Bangkok everyday

  10. Excellent library . Surprised me in collection of English books, Travel books, and activities. Comfortable sitting, AC, Silence and friendly staff. Newspapers. Very good. Recommend.
