  1. Easy to reach by car as you travel on the main road true Uttaradit – the temple is stock standard as you see hundreds in Thailand , but has a nice food market next to it with truly traditional country thai foods.

  2. The approximately 700 year old temple is named after the pre-Sukhothai ancient city “Thung Yang” where it is located. The temple was tranquil. After we had worshipped the principal Buddha image, we walked to the golden pagoda behind the main hall to worship Buddha relics. Some locals do believe that this region is the hometown of Miss Rojana, a female protagonist in Thai folktale “Sang Thong” (The Prince of the Golden Conch Shell).
