Khao Thalu is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking Thailand
Quite amazing to see a mountain with a hole through it. I have seen this a few times when driving from Phato to Chumphon. I don’t know if this is natural or artificial.
A remarkable site: a mountain with a hole in it. The geology of the whole area is quite amazing, but Khao Thalu takes the prize. Good views may be had form road 4139. There are a few other odd features in the Ban Khao Thalu area; local shops (including the Tesco in Chumphon) may stock Khao Thalu coffee which is quite good.
