10 thoughts on “Ayothaya Elephant Village

  1. You are paying for Pure abuse of animals. Do not visit or support such activity. Go to the elephant jungle sanctuary in Chang Mai or Paraya to see, feed, stroke, walk with, clean and bathe with elephants.

  2. Drove past this on a bike ride around ayutthaya and it is simply sad to see this. Loud music playing with bass whilst elephants are shackled and made to do things. Walking around on the hot asphalt with Chinese tourists on their back. I don’t understand how the Thai government can allow this.

  3. Today me and my girlfriend went to Ayutthaya for a bike tour and we saw these poor animals forced to carry people on their back while the driver was beating their head with a sharp tool. This was disgusting, we could clearly see the pain in the eyes of the elephants.PLEASE DON’T BRING YOUR CHILDREN HERE, THEY WOULD LEARN NOTHING ELSE THAN CRUELTY AGAINST ANIMALS.

  4. I would never dream of visiting this abusive trekking business! Please, please do not ride on elephants! If everyone boycotts trekking it has to end!! Visit ethical sanctuaries who would never dream of offering rides OR bathing! Go to Samui Elephant Village or Nature Village in Koh Samui!

  5. I should have done my research because during my ride I saw abuse they beat them with sharp hooks you see blood and it broke my heart also they beg you for money before you arrive back at drop off DONT GO!

  6. The owner or manager who seems to be running this service is very bad tempered. This is also a rip off and had a very bad experience. Elephants are also treated badly during the ride.

  7. DISGUSTING TREATMENT OF ELEPHANTSI was horrified to see that Ayutthaya Elephant Village has painted its elephants black and white to resemble pandas.#ayuthhayaelephantvillageWhat is wrong with people to do such a stupid thing???

  8. Anything you read about abuse and neglect is a lie. These beautiful animals are happy and healthy. Life-changing, affordable experience. For a tiny charge (~$1.50) you can feed the elephants. That means tangible, in-person experience with magnificent beasts the West in its infinite wisdom has removed so far from your view at zoos that they’re almost unreal. My family rode these amazing animals which was wonderful for us and them. They are beasts of burden with amazing intellects but unless you can interact with them you can’t witness their intelligence. Appreciate nature by actually experiencing it.

  9. The is another elephant village in the city that seen to more professional. This location do not take well care of elephants.

  10. DO NOT support these elephant tours! They are solely tourist attractions with no concern for the welfare of elephant, and riding one on the hot pavement of a city in abusive. Their numbers in the wild are shrinking. Paying to ride and even interact with the elephants encourages Thai people to capture and exploit even more elephants for profit. If you love elephants, donate to elephant protection non-profits instead of paying to interact with them. The elephants truly get nothing out of the experience!
