  1. Arrived at the famous Three Pagoda Pass, located about 20 km from Sangklaburi. Though the only thing that can be seen at this location are 3 small stupas replicating the 3 pagodas, it is as I have said for history buffs. From what I was told by my trusted guide, centuries ago this was the spot from where marauding Burmese armies marched into Thailand on their traditional invasions. It also marks the rugged Thai – Myanmar border and is the site of a small thriving border market. The pass towards the Burmese border is only open to Thai citizens who can obtain day passes to the border town.

  2. the famous iconic well known place for all Thai students about Thai-Burma animosity relationship in the previous ancient historical studied that has strong influenced until today.actually this place has more precious valuable rather than just ordinary border trader market as current condition.this place has been designated as the important role of logistics transportation hub connection operated by Japanese Military troop during WW2. it would be great to restructure and recover this ancient historical site to world war 2 histocal memorial place, in order to preserve the valuable stories that shouldn’t disappeared and completely forgotten in the mid air without any further consideration.

  3. It was very scenic and interesting on the border with Myanmar. But the village shops were average with the exception of the Orchid stores here. My wife proceeded to buy many exotic orchids and fill the back seat of our Toyota pickup truck.

  4. The Three Pagodas are not large and impressive; but the place has historical significance. This is the place where the Thai side of the Death Railway met the Burmese side, not much to see but worth a couple of hours of your holiday.

  5. The Three Pagodas themselves are OK but not overly interesting, but the place is surrounded by scenic mountains and you can peer into Burma – but not cross unless you are Thai. There is some Thai-Burma Railway history, and markets selling a range of souvenirs, jewellery and clothes. Probably worth a visit as its a short drive from Sangkhla Buri with good scenery all the way.

  6. The three pagoda pass is of historic significance. Personal elephant battle between the kings of Burma and Thailand took place there. It is now a local border crossing point between the two countries. But be aware only locals can pass through. American and Europeans can not cross from Thailand to Burma there due to lack of passport control agents. There is a market with interesting shops on Thai side.

  7. Nice day trip from Sangkhla Buri. We visited the three pagodas pass with the scooter. Depagodas don’t mean much, but it is also the end of the death railway. There is also a market with teak supplies at very favorable prices that also counts for alcohol and the Myamar Whiskey. The border is closed to tourists. On the route Sangkhlaburi-Three pagodas pass it is very nice to make a stop at the only bridge, swim and eat possibilities.

  8. These are very small pagodas! However the place is pleasant enough. There is a small memorial to the Death Railway. Overall not really worth the drive from Sangklaburi, to be honest.

  9. The Three Pagodas is a good historical monument. The monument is small but important. The monument reminds us that Burma soldiers invaded Siam many years ago. It is worth visiting.

  10. You drive as far as you can go without crossing into Myanmar, and there at the end of the road are the famous Three Pagodas – or not, apparently. These are said to be replicas with the original ones somewhere out of sight over the border. It only matters to people like me who were retracing the route of the Thai-Burma railway which ran past the real pagodas. Even so quite an interesting little Thai salient jutting into Myanmar with lorries loading up goods from the local area (and probably a few dubious things from over the border). A small market selling tourist knickknacks and a surprisingly good coffee shop.
