  1. We stopped in to visit this cave while driving from Mae Sariang to Mae Hong Son. The turn off is not particularly well marked so we had to do a u-turn – about half the signs are only in Thai so it’s worth trying to remember what the characters look like to keep following them. About five kilometers or so on, we found the visitor center for the cave. No one really spoke English, but it was easy enough to pay, after which we were directed to park our car and hop into the back of a pickup truck. The cave was another kilometer or so up the road. The driver showed us the list of rules for visiting the cave in English, gave us a flashlight and sent us on our way. Apparently, there is not a ton of oxygen in the cave so visits are limited to 20 minutes. This doesn’t present a problem as it’s not that big a cave. Everything was well lit and we really didn’t need the flashlight. The calcite formations were gorgeous – definitely worth the side trip from the highway! We have photos and some more details on our blog: http://swansoni.blogspot.com/2015/01/driving-mae-hong-son-loop-mountains.html

  2. The way to the caves is now quite easy to find, they have put up signs in English all the way to the ticket booth and car park. The entry fee is 80 baht per person which includes the 10 minute taxi ride to the caves (you are not allowed to drive yourself) and back to the car park. You are only allowed 20 minutes in the actual cave apparently due to lack of oxygen we did not have any problem and is self guided, don’t expect it to be cool underground it’s not and is very humid. Be aware when you have to clime the stairs back to the top the stairs are quite steep but you are rewarded with some great crystal formations.

  3. One of only 3 caves in the world. You must have a guide. Limit of people are allowed together inside. You can either buy your entrance ticket in the village below and also havepick-up car to take you up or buy at cave entrance. There are many posts in English to learn about the crystals formation. No pictures are allowed inside.Narrow stairs and go deep for 10 minutes.EXCELLENT.
