  1. This waterfall is about an hour outside the center of Muang Phayao. The drive is through the mountains and definitely a great view. Also, there is a 100 baht entrance fee to the park. The waterfall is so peaceful. On the bottom part you can jump off (it’s a small jump) and the top you can swim around with some fish!

  2. It’s a really nice road from Phayao to Nan on a motorbike. It’s a lovely stop to make without too much effort and it doesn’t seem to be a very busy place – at least in August it wasn’t !The jungle and waterfalls are very beautiful and it’s a nice place to have a swim and cool down.

  3. I have been many times to this secluded paradise (over an hour from Phayao city) and, although out of the way for the mainstream tourism, it is frequented by local families and groups of young friends, but many times -mostly during the week- the whole National Park is only for you. Bring your drinks and food, there is nothing of that kind, not even a vending machine. The “pool” is a splendid gift from Nature, but don’t go alone. From Phayao go to Duk Kon Tai and take the 1251 road.

  4. Easy to drive to. Waterfall is only a few hundred meters from the parking lot. Super clean park and washrooms, well worth the baht to enter.

  5. Important routing advice: If you are coming from Phayao (just over an hour’s drive), gps will guide you right in to the park, but if you come from Lampang, gps will have you exit highway 1 near Mae Wa, and this route eventually ends up on a dirt road with 40 km still to go. Continue north on highway 1 to highway 120 and come in that way. That said, this was a nice peaceful little park. Entry was 100 thb plus 30 for a car. Main attraction is the waterfall, located around 300 meters from the parking lot, down a steep staircase. Very pretty waterfall, although not that dramatic of a drop. Camping at this park looks peaceful. There’s a snack bar and a restaurant, although I had trouble getting someone’s attention there and eventually gave up on getting a coffee. There’s also a short nature trail, 1.3 km loop which took me less than 30 minutes to walk. Not that interesting of a walk, but good for exercise if you have the time. Trail starts above the first aid house and ends near the snack bar. And speaking of the first aid house, they seem to be safety conscious here. In addition to first aid, there was also a ranger stationed by the waterfall, who kept an eye on me any time I was near the water. Comforting to me. Toilets are in numerous locations, even down by the waterfall. Good picnic spot near the waterfall, although you can’t take food or drinks to the actual falls area.

  6. This is a very underrated national park. It has a beautiful waterfall that you can swim in and have a picnic around. and it is not crowded at all when compared to the other major ones. The park is a one hour from Phayao City And the road leading there are paved. Great for a quick visit or stop over if you’re in the area.
