  1. This is a place very near to the Fuji of Thailand. It is a nice place to see the Rocky and Line stone mountain from an observatory desk. You need to climb the stairs appx 100 steps to see the beautiful Rocky Mountain. You have to leave your car at the parking and either you can go by walking or take the shuttle from the base which charges Baht 25 per person for a round trip.

  2. A wonderful place–especially loved the stone maze. You follow cute stone paths, no signs, to wander around. At one point the path is hidden behind a Buddha statue. To find the place is a challenge because there is very little signage in English, so here are important clues: turn off route 201 at Nong Hin. The road is hard to find. If you are coming from Loei you have to make a U-turn and get on to the service road in order to access the desired turn off. If you are coming from Phu Kradeung, at the first intersection in Ban Nong Hin, move left onto the service road, go past a school and the district health office then turn left. The road is very good. It is 18 km to the site. At 13 km you reach the ranger station, then 5 km after that you need to turn right, under a red wooden archway that says “Kunming”. The place is not far from that turn off.

  3. You can either walk from the main area to the rocks. We took the transport, which was a kind of trolley pulled be what looked like a tractor engine with two wheels and a handle!I think we chose well, as the ground was very muddy. The first part of the tour is a very steep climb up the stairs to get to the top of the mountain. It quite a climb and can be tiring, but the effort is well worth it. The views are beautiful. The tour then continues around the cliff formations, which are impressive. It should be noted hat some of the passages can be narrow. This is also where the sensible footwear comes in, as it can be slippery. All in all, a very good experience, well worth the 17km detour from route 201 to Chiang Khan

  4. This small town stop is quite charming and very popular with the locals. An hour from the city this idyllic countryside offers peaceful fresh frontiers, Once you venture into the heart of this view spot there opens another gateway. Follow the path to further your adventure and discover the depths of this site. For those curious enough to continue the journey, there lies a small reward for some physical effort. A small local market is the finale at the bottom of the walk and there awaits a very Thai ending, the tak tak taxi will take you back to the original entry point as if it were all a dream. There are plenty of souvenir shops and refreshments available with some restaurants and as usual, ample traditional food to taste or take away as part of the memory.

  5. A nice bush walk especially for small kids. Recommend you go to the visitor centre to pay for the guided walk fee. The walk can be done by 5 yrs old and the kids love it

  6. A wonder of nature 45 km. from Loei town. The one-hour tour was fun and exhilarating. You need a guide because the trail through these Kunming-like rock formations is a maze (and amazing), at one point requiring a short hands and knees crawl. The stones would spark anyone’s imagination. Look for baby elephants, lions, T-rex and Homer Simpson. Great Thai lunch after the trail.

  7. When you pull up, you see a very neat little park surrounded by towering rocks. The place is designed for selfies. Many people will settle for that and be happy, but if you go through the natural arch, you enter a maze of trails past, over and, often, through a plethora of bizarre rock formations. Quite an amazing place! We wandered through, past the big white Buddha statue part way and (more by luck than judgement) got to the fantastic viewpoint. We ended up where we did not begin and so took the bus-tractor hybrid back to the starting point (30 baht for the ride). Amazing place. We didn’t have a guide, but it could have been a good idea. Good noodle shop just next to the park, by the way.

  8. Nice place to visit! You can follow a trail leading you through a limestone forest to reach the viewpoint. Not many people were around when I was there

  9. Stunning place away from the normal crowds of tourists. The rock formations and vistas here are very intriguing, This is a great place to go hiking, exploring, and there is a great opportunity to climb to the top of great vistas.

  10. This is a not very large park featuring rock formation of the Karst type, like in Chinese KunMing. A little cart will take you to the beginning of a trail (30 baht go and back). The entrance fee is 100 baht for any group. A guide will join you, this is a volunteer and you can tip what you feel like. At first you climb up steps on a staircase and a path. Later you will need to crawl through some openings in the rocks and will finally arrive at a viewing platform from where there is a great view. Then you proceed down again and are brought back to your car from a different point. The whole trail is about 600 meters, takes less than an hour and counts about 1300 steps. Certainly interesting and a nice piece of nature.
