A little detour on the way from Lamphun to Lampang will bring you tho this nice scenic spot. Good for taking a few photos and watching the train roll past. There was a couple taking wedding photos there, so the whole setting really makes a good background. You probably won’t spend much time there unless you have your lunch in one of the small restaurants by the river.
About halfway from Chiang Mai to Lampang, the White Bridge is a two-span concrete railway bridge, a hundred years old, over a small stream a little north of the Khuntan Tunnel. By road it’s about 18 km east of the turnoff from the Route 11 highway. The gleaming white bridge lies in a scenic valley backed by mountains, next to a small, quiet village, with a golf course on the other side of the stream. Beside the bridge a cluster of bamboo restaurants and coffee shops stands on the bank. Besides a short walk for the view and riverside refreshments, the prime activity is to witness one of the several trains that whizz across the bridge each day. A sign next to one of the restaurants and another one by the railway tracks announce the scheduled times for this event.
