Loved this small chinatown in pattaya. It was very clean and pretty. There were few shops and places to eat as well.
Soho is one of the best options in Pattaya…we tried few stands but mostly we ate at Original Thai (Taste of Thai or something like that 😉) Menu with pictures (English, Thai, Chinese and Russian language). Plastic tables and plates (so very Thai) but also clean (as they wipe table after each guests). Our most favorite? Grilled muscles with cheese and garlic, grilled snapper, glass noodles with shrimps and actually everything with seafood…if you are not seafood lover, no worries, as they have wide food options. Seafood is fresh, you can point at any of the sea creature you are craving and is available.Drinks are served by other stand so always paid extra and after you receive your drinks.Recommended by all members of my family 🙂
Self proclaimed Chinatown of Pattaya (statement pretty much false). Dedicated mostly for outdoor food court with some addition of tourist shopping (souvenirs, fruits and vegetables, snacks to go, nothing really special anyway). Not much is happening here before sunset, it becomes alive after dark. Food is pretty average, yet passable, prices are inflated, since most of customers are tourists with no idea of local prices.
Walked past this place and it looked like a mini china town in pattaya. Decided to walk around to have a look. Most of the restaurant were selling Chinese food, most probably catering to the mass Chinese tourists you find in pattaya. Other than the Chinese food, really nothing much to this place.
The small market has a chinese décor with dragon motifs, Chinese text and a predominance of red and gold. Entry is through a large Chinese style gate and there are chinese themed buildings inside. It is a slice of China in Pattaya with the usual assortment of restaurants and bars. If you like Chinese food or sea food, you can eat here. Otherwise, it is great for a quick look around and some photos.
This is an area catering to tourists from China. The shops here are mainly selling Chinese food and souvenirs. The entrance is a traditional Chinese gate decorated with dragon carvings and sculptures.
We went at night. Local and foreign guests enjoy their meals under colorful lights. Seafood mainly stands out. The crocodile rotisserie and grill are also highlighted. There is a wide variety of cuisine to suit every taste and budget. In general, grills are very popular. Fish cooked on a charcoal barbecue is also delicious.
Not an authentic “Chinatown” but a fabricated destination apparently designed to make Chinese tourists feel at home (although one wonders why people travel only to seek out the familiar). The place has a Chinese gate, Chinese shops and restaurants.
Two and a half years ago, there was NOTHING here during the pandemic. Destruction and rubbish. Only the sunburnt gates stood. Life strikes a key now. A lot of people in cafes and shops. Sohotown came alive with the city and tourism.
