Wat Khao Banchob is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking 22150, Thailand
I went to Wat Khao Banchob almost a year ago together with my family when visiting Chantaburi. I’ve been to Thailand a number of times and have – of course – visited some temples, of which there are many(!). More often than not I find them a bit too crowded and sometimes also a bit exaggerated (at least to my somewhat austere taste). This place is different, however. Two colours stand out: brown/chestnut and gold and lend an air of calm, quiet and solemnity to the scene once you come into the temple. It had the effect on me, that I actually sat down and tried to meditate for a little while. This place is actually a soothing place to stay, and I had willingly stayed longer, had I not had obligations to the rest of my party to attend to. There’s a good place to refresh yourself close by (Ban Suan Nim Ram) with reasonably priced food, and cottages too, if you want to stay in the area for longer. The scenery is also quite amazing. You find it all about an hours drive from Chantaburi .
