Remote deserted beach with blackish sand. No changing/shower rooms nor toilets.
We stayed in Had Yao at the beginning of our holiday after we spent the weekend in Bangkok. It’s a good place to relax and come down as it’s very quiet & has a nice sunset. You can walk for ages and nothing will disturb you. We stayed at The Beach Boutique Resort, which was good too. There are nicer places though, with an even nicer view and vibe (see my other review about Amari Vogue – more pricy though)
This place just has a few small resorts & very few amenities. The beach & sea by no means compare to the beauty of say Railay. On the plus side it is very quiet. I suspect a resort area waiting to happen but recession has put things on hold?
Had Yao is not for everyone. If you’re looking for lifestyle offerings, you better go Ao Nang. This area is basically a village of plantation, small towns and homes. It is vast land and getting from the main road to Had Yao Beach by road is about 20-25min, depending on how familiar you’re. On certain roads there are no street lamps at night so there is really nothing to see from 630pm.
we liked the lack of crowds, but you can’t swim here unless yoiu wade out for ages, which kinda spoils a beach forme
This beach can look nice in photos and a lot of the boutique resorts in the area are nice. But the beach is a real let down. There is trash everywhere. E-V-E-R-Y-W-H-E-R-E. Even our small hotel was throwing their trash on the beach! The beach is actually quite vast. There is dark sand which is fine by me. If you go you’ll pretty much have it to yourself and some farmers who walk their cows here. But the trash is a huge problem and until this is regularly taken care of I would never recommend visiting here. There are too many beautiful places in Krabi and in Thailand to visit so do not waste your precious time.
dirty sand covered in garbage and while it looked nice – lovely calm waves lapping at the shore, the sea was full of jelly fish
First of all, I’m a local there,Had Yao there are many hotel there but sadly there is nothing to do just relaxing walk on the beach and there are some seafood restaurants but I’ve never tried the food because my brother is fisherman. It’s no point to try the food there. If you never, try it. The reason why the beach is so dark because there are two of mangrove canal on the southern and northern beach some people try to create new name as CO CO beach similar the black beach
The place is too far from hotel..no regular transport send there…around two hours to go krabi town or airport…but it provides high level of privacy for families
