10 thoughts on “Tammalang Pier

  1. It is a simple jetty, with enough basic facilities. It has 2-3 food stall to choose, convenience store, travel agency and even shop to rent car or motorcycle. But the jetty is a bit far from a bus station or hotel.

  2. There is not much to do at the Pier and the ferry only come in 2-3 times a day so you gotta plan your trip really well. However the staff there is quite friendly and helpful

  3. If you want to go to Hat Yai or Satun from this peer, you have to take a songthaew (kind of pick-up truck taxi) or a motorcycle. From Tammalang Pier to Satun City, there are no restaurants or no coffee shops.

  4. We had to use the pier going by ferry to Langkawi. It’s really in a poor stage of development especially when you have seen the Kuah Jetty Pier in Langkawi

  5. The jetty should provide better facilities e.g sitting toilet with good flushing system. The tourism unit should promote the mangrove walk in order for tourists to visit the place while waiting for their transport. More information about it is also helpful to educate tourists about the importance of mangrove trees to the environment. The jetty itself should be made more attractive by having more information on places to visit around Satun not just the islands around it. The immigration officers were friendly.

  6. A badly managed pier from the way the shops are organized and the facilities. Exchange rate is also at the lowest compare to other entrance points to Thailand. Transport to bus station and town should be better accessible and choice.

  7. We took a ferry from Kuah Jetty to the Tammalang Pier in about one hour. The ferry was full. We arrived at Tammalang Pier at 10 am. The immigration is about 20 minutes. There are ferry offices, a food court, restaurants, immigration, and a tour agency at the pier. The pier is acceptable. There are public transportation to take you to Satun. We paid 1,200 Baht for a taxi to Hatyai Airport. It is about 1 hour and 20 minutes to Hatyai Airport.

  8. Please don’t just sit there waiting for the ferry! Go inside the restaurant sitting area and enjoy these local ladies food offering ? I am renovating my boat for 10 months in here and I enjoy their food daily… Always tasty! They will warn you if it’s “spissssy” and always with a smile. Also try the coffee shop quite decent hot Latte (Rrrron Late!)

  9. Immigration very kind but ask for 500 baths if I come back in less than 8 days.I also recommended the sort of coffee shop there where staff is very kind

  10. Nice coffee shop. Not much else there but it’s comfortable enough. Plenty of taxis waiting once you arrive.
