  1. Fantastic sites, you have to see to believe it. Took many photos. Worth the admission fee!! Walked to a cliff(scared!) Stayed an overnight. Went there twice, once myself andfriends next.

  2. This park has so many attractions it is hard to know whci is the best. To begin with there is the somewhat stark beginning from the park entrance. One climbs up the first rocky slope which boast some amazing rock formations and interesting caves, then can continue to the right and get some stunning views or continue straight on to a wonderful trek amongst the rocky cliffs, up a stream that runs through the forest and eventually a great waterfall. Above this fall is a cave with ancient Buddha relics and a lovely Buddha statue. The park also boasts some fossilized dinosaur remains.

  3. Visited as a couple during the probably worst time of the year – it was incredibly hot and the stones got even hotter as the day progressed. However, we had an amazing 3h visit there. Two very kind school girls were assigned to us upon entering the park and they stayed with us during the entirety of the visit. While their English was limited they were genuinely interested in helping us understand more about this place and went out of their way to show us all the little details we definitely would have missed hiking without them. We did the large loop of the routes offered and saw some pretty impressive rock formations. In particular, we loved the rock camel – so much fun! We’d definitely recommend a visit here. Make sure to bring good shoes and enough water if you’re planning to hike the entire trail.

  4. Not the biggest or the best but a look 200 bhatt entry, must do with another person as there are rocks to climb best after rain season so you can see the waterfall, there is a bhudda on the trail

  5. Very nice location with some outstanding views. Could benefit for more refreshment facilities for tourist.

  6. I took a Tuk Tuk from Mukdahan and arranged for pick up 3hrs later for 600 tbt. The trip was about 20 kilometres from town and further south than was shown on the TA map, I’ve just submitted am updated location for the Rocky Mountain Park. Entry to the park was 200 tbt. This park is well worth a visit. Decent walking shoes, hat/umbrella and water also recommended. There are some rock formations adjacent to the visitor facilities where you can freely roam about and take photos, from there you can walk up the rocky face of the mountain at a leisurely incline to see more rock formations and stop at a nicely shaded rotunda for a rest. There is no clearly defined path, rather a sign off in the distance to head to. Take note of where you walk so as to find your way back. I used the Geo Tracker app on my phone and realised I had deviated from my path on the return journey by some margins. I walked a total of 4 kilometres and visited the “Camel” rock on my way to the cliff faces. A very nice little hike indeed. The sandstone ground had lots of traction as it was dry but may become slippery if wet. The views were stunning and the serenity just amazing. There is potential to fall from cliff faces so I would not walk here in the dark. The waterfall, I was told, was dry so didn’t venture the whole trail. I think anyone with a sense of adventure should try this walk, young and old alike. The park ranger took our photo as we were leaving, I guess for security. I hope they don’t blame me for the bins that had been toppled over by the wind!

  7. Good for a hike and geology interesting. Friendly staff. Take plenty of water with you as not much shelter from sun. Good car parking. Well worth a visit but possibly not for a full day.

  8. excellent place to visit, much to see and do or just chill out at one of the many restaurants along the Mekong river. friendly people and very cheap hotels. 700 baht a night for bed and breakfast, clean and peaceful at Sawan hotel and resort
