  1. Enclosing the body of water created by the Bang Lang Dam, the Bala-Hala Forest, also called Suan Pa Phra Namaphithai Phak Tai, Section Two, is home to a plethora of wild plants and animals, including hornbills that can be seen and heard in the treetops. The royally registered southern rainforest, which covers part of the Sankala Khiri Mountain range, lies between the Kingdoms of Malaysia and Thailand and is an outset of many important rivers that flow through southern Thailand such as the Pattani River, the Saiburi River and the Sungaigolok River. Thai scientists have identified Bala Hala Forest as the most ideal forest in Thailand due to several factors, including its amount and variety of insects, plants and animals; the number of rare fauna and flora that live in the environment; its excellent health and sustained growth; and its precipitation and overall water saturation. Also located within the forest is a tree with a circumference so colossal, it takes 38 people, hand-to-hand with outstretched arms, to ring it.

  2. Far away from the busy tourists areas this secluded sanctuary is still untouched by tourism. It is a one on one encounter with nature. A wonderful piece of Thailand i fell in love with.

  3. After long driving through 2laned winding asphalted road, we arrived at hala bala wildlife santuary at the forestry office. At first stop at research center, we experienced plantation , mak Daeng trees( palm family) , DaLa ( ginger family) with unique flowers. Unfortunately, we miss hornbill birds which are fauna here. Then we furthered to Sirindhorn waterfall , clear crystal water with strong wave of water through slippery rocks. It’s very peasant time here with few tourists.
