  1. I know only this place in unseen Thailand. I have a day trip where I have to go. I select this place and I am very appreciate to introduce this place. Before you reach the peck, you will have the question that we should be stop and go down now one not. You have to fight with yourself all the time. When I reach the peck. Everything gone.you will be will that the world for you only. I cannot said for a lot things but you can see my photo attached. The last photos, you will understand why I said this world for me only.

  2. I saw a photo of this temple about 2 weeks before hearing about it through photos on Facebook for the first time, and realizing it was within easy reach of a short trip I was planning to take to Chiang Mai. The temple did live up to the stunning photos I’d seen.To get to the temple, you drive to a starting point below mountain where there are a few restaurants and other vendors as well as a ticket office. The ticket includes entry to the park as well as a round trip ride to the higher base of the mountain itself. After a walk of around 5 minutes you come to a sign that says the Sky Pagoda is 540 meters ahead. The 540 meters turns out to be entirely comprised of staircase after staircase. The staircase was very solidly built (so well built I wondered who’d actually built it since it is impressive), and apart from stair climbing the terrain was not at all difficult. There are benches spaced frequently on the way up to stop for a rest. I think the trip up took around 20 minutes.Once you reach the top, there are several temple buildings perched on the rocks of the mountain peak. The air was hazy when I was there but the view was still dramatic and well worth the trip. This really was an amazing place to visit. I’d never seen anything yet like it in Thailand.

  3. Amazing place to visit. Climbing all those steps up to the top of the mountain is quite an effort for the not too fit but well worth it. Great views from the top, very interesting, loved it!

  4. We enjoyed the journey to the entrance, went up with the jeep until the beginning of the stairs, climbed the stairs and the reward was at the top the stairs. Amazing views from 4 parts of the mountain.

  5. Located 2.5 hours from Chiang Mai. The roads are smooth and straight-forward. Once at the entrance at the bottom of the mountain, you’ll need to buy a ticket for 280THB for an open shuttle to take you to a higher point where you will begin your ascend up 800 steep steps. There is a neat bridge and lots of lookouts. I’d say its moderate in effort, easy for anyone fit. At the top you can explore basically 3-4 view spots beside each other. There is no actual path to the “white bells” so you will be viewing them from a distance. A bit of a shame that you’re not allowed to climb to them. Most photos online are drone footages. The views are indeed spectacular. We went in January and there were only a handful of other tourists. Once you’re back on at the shuttle point to go back down, check out the path behind the booth where the drivers hang. Its called “Buddha’s footprint”. It’s not the real thing of course but it’s just another spot with small temples to explore.Another reviewer suggested a contact for a driver named Chiang. We reached out and found that he was extremely pushy, assuming plans were made without our agreement. When we didn’t reply to him within the hour, he started harassing us with so many phone calls that we had to block him. Our hotel connected us to Noom +66889214799 Whatsapp/Line – Very nice driver, descent English, courteous and prompt, comfortable car. Cost us 2,800THB + 540THB gas from Chiang may return trip.

  6. Nice but feel the charges for foreigners as usual is unreasonably high. Due to that I feel it’s ok to come here if you’re in the area, but is it worth it to make a special trip? You park at the base, buy your entrance fees, tickets for the ride in the pickup up to the intermediate level. Get out the pickup then start walking. Lots of steep steps going up. The steps are well made. There’s some signage along the way explaining things. All in Thai. You would think that after charging the foreigners much higher fees to enter the area they would at least take the trouble to translate the text into foreign language.View of the pagoda at the top is nice, as the pics you see. However the pictures of the top from the drones are much more impressive than your view from where you can stand. Would I go again? Probably not due to the charges. Been there done that. Would I go again if the prices were more reasonable? Only if I was in the area.

  7. This is a tough climb but definitely worth the effort. I would call myself reasonably fit but this was at times an exhausting trek up multiple layers of steps. On many different levels there are beautiful pagodas and stupas. Highly recommend you take water with you and a facecloth as you will sweat like crazy. We saw quite a few people give up on the lower levels but I am so glad I persevered and made it to the top. The views are phenomenal

  8. Friends who are interested in this temple based on the photos and videos they have seen on the internet and YouTube should be aware that the entrance ticket to this temple is 500 Thai Baht, while it’s only 30 Baht for Thai citizens. Additionally, since it is not located on the main routes, you will have to bear significant expenses to get there. I don’t think seeing this temple is worth it, given this description. There’s not much up there except for a large number of iron stairs. Be cautious about the videos posted on YouTube and don’t believe them all. I must emphasize again that the ticket price has increased to 500 Baht.Even though we went there with a rented car, we decided not to accept this high cost, maybe it will be less for other foreigners in the future, and of course because the price difference is not fair.

  9. Entry is far more expensive for Farangs compared to locals but I’m pleased to pay extra. The stairs and facilities would cost alot to maintain. It’s by far the best experience I’ve had at a temple in Thailand. The views are epic and the climb of 875 metres has you immersed in the spectacular forrest.Well worth the trip, highly recommended.

  10. Hidden gem. Best temple in Thailand, unique. Must see, but challenging to reach. Long winding road, transfer on special pick-up, 600+ steps up hiking.

  11. Simply AMAZING……….. This Temple has had the approach up the mountainside Upgraded ( which is good ) No longer is it a slog up the actual mountain tracks – now they have an elevated walkway above the ground making ascent and decline much much easier. Note: Dual Pricing is in play – over 4 Times more for Non Thai’s to enter…..!!! The climb up IS HARD WORK but well worth the effort – take it slowly one step at a time 🙂 This was the 2nd visit for my wife and myself however I do not think it will our last every visit. The serenity & peacefulness at the summit is to be remembered.A stunning stunning MUST SEE & DO….. I’m attaching a photo of the prices as of December 2024.
