  1. The free foot soak was WAY too hot, and I like very hot water. We also didn’t feel like going in the pool, but two other couples seemed to enjoy it. The fact that they had a pool makes this place better than most hot springs in the area, which are usually underwhelming.

  2. I visited in October and the pool was not open yet. In three weeks time I was told so I had a mineral bath for 20 minutes. The water was very hot here, so the staff run the bath for you and add some cooler water otherwise you would not be able to sit in it. Wonderfully relaxing! I felt like a limp rag doll when I came out.

  3. We had a great time swimming in the sulpher water for an hour to refresh the body from all the traveling around. The bigger pool was extremely hot for the body but good to soak the feet for a short time. The setting is amazing in the jungle of trees and colorful mountains in the background. The best part was the cheap entrance fee.

  4. It was not what i expected. My mother wanted to try the hot mineral bath which was nothing more than a bath in a really old bath house with 2 old bath tub and a sign that says you can adjust the water temperature to your liking….guess what? The water tap to turn on the hot water, doesnt even work. The employee there will fill in the tub for you and then tell you that you can adjust the temperature on your own if you dont like it but my mother and i just sat there in the lukewarm water filled tub with the hot water tap turned on for 15 minutes and nothing seriously came out from it. When we told the employee working there, her reply was, its hard to get water here thats why we have to pump up the water if you want to use.Judging from her expression and attitude, it was obvious she didnt want or feel like doing it. My mother told me not to argue with her and to just leave it at that as she and the other employees looked with us and would rather go back to chatting among themselves. I also discovered that 10 minutes after leaving the bath, my whole body was itchy and red aith rash even though the water was just warm, not even a little hot. I guessed i must had a reaction to the mineral water, if it was even mineral or whatever it was.Though not all is lost i suppose, the hot spring to soak our feet was nice and i did enjoy that and i suppose for the price that we paid for, i guess we shouldnt have expected much.

  5. The hot springs are just a short ride from Mae Hong Son and easy to find. The entrance fee is just 20 baht and for that you get use of the area and the good sized swimming pool that is warm bath temperature. Also the hot foot spa. Massages etc are extra but still cheap. The whole area is tidy though the toilets could be better. Very laid back and pleasant way to spend half a dat.

  6. It must close during the rainy season as it was when we visited (Mid August), we could walk around but nobody was there, even the pool was empty. I’ve visited quite a few of these springs but this one is without doubt the most sulphuric! See pics. There no signs in Thai or English showing opening times.

  7. The Thai wife and I spend most of the middle of a day here recently. We went out to use the hot spring swimming pool only to find it empty. Were were offered the choice of a small or large bath house. The small looked too small even for the two of us so we chose the large bath house for 500 baht even though perhaps twenty people could have used it at the same time. The staff started filling the spa bath, it took more than an hour for it to fill although we started using it after about twenty minutes and continued to do so as it filled. There was a thin scum on the water surface as it filled, the empty spa pool was clearly dusty. Looking up and through the spaces in the ceiling revealed the rook space to be filled with cobwebs and leaf litter. Quite honestly it would been better not to have looked. The two inadequate rails provided to hang cloths and towels were both dirty. Luckily I had a packet of pocket tissues and could clean them. The wash basin and bench top they were in were also dusty and dirty – tissues to the rescue again. Finally the cold water in the shower was quite brownish. The only redeeming feature of this facility was there is a massage business either part of it or adjacent to it. The wife and I both enjoyed an hour long foot massage after our dirty spa bath experience.

  8. It’s not exactly a hot spring in a forest so in that sense it’s not a natural setting. However, after an all day bike ride, the swimming pool is very welcoming.

  9. I visited here after doing a local trek. It wasn’t as hot as I had hoped but once in I enjoyed it. I was surprised how well the place was set up, toilets, showers, changing rooms, small/large baths and massages. It’s worth a visit.

  10. It is a bit abandoned in a way,but it is real. The entrance is only 20 baht if you go to the swimming pool, but you have to ask for putting the hot water tube inside the pool, otherwise is lukewarm. There are other prices for the tubs which are a bit expensive for what they are,but if you have a transport and you are wandering around and you like mineral waters,it’s worth a visit. The place is beautiful although if they would have maintain it,it would be super!Stop also to some stalls next to the road where they have tiger pistachios of their own production, really fresh and tasteful..buy some!and you support the local people also without going to the karren villages nearby that they are like a zoo of some kind!
