If you are staying in Laguna Beach and want to get cheaper food or do a little grocery shopping then this is your best option as it is nearby the laguna resorts. Still expensive compared with those in town center but better compared with those in the resort. It has several local and foreign restos alike and they have streetfood bazar on weekend nights. I am not sure if it is easily accesible with public transpo but if you are staying in Angsana Villas then they offer free shuttle from 5pm to 7pm for guests
Boat Avenue is where the Shopping Village is located with permanent shops selling mostly clothes, toys and other bits but high end fashions with expensive prices. There is also a supermarket here with fresh fruit & veg, butcher, fishmonger and they also do cooked food like BBQ chicken and sides. The supermarket is priced well. There is a Boots pharmacy in front of the supermarket, just inside the entry doors. You’ll also find lots of other services surrounding Boat Avenue – beauty, hair, massage, nails, dentist, motorbike & scooter hire. There are lots of restaurants and bars all on the outskirts of Boat Avenue that are popular and during the day you’ll find street vendors wheeling their goods into the area – usually food/drink items cooked on site. Friday night there is a market at the back of Boat Avenue – just follow the crowds through the car park to the street behind the car park where it all starts. It’s mainly food, bar drinks, entertainment but they also do sunglasses, baby clothes, toys, t-shirts, etc. If you’re staying in the area it’s worth going to the market. Most hotels offer a free shuttle service to Boat Avenue because the hotels in this area are pretty isolated, so without a car or hiring a scooter, you’re relying on taxis and tuk tuks to get you anywhere outside of your hotel.
Friday evening in the market has a good vibe. Lots of stalls selliing all sorts. A few selling food and seats and tables to sit down, but can be busy. Live music at a couple of places and decent cocktails at OK prices. Good for couples and families to stroll around and eat at any time
