  1. Laem Chabang is the deep water port for Bangkock to the North and Pattaya to the East. It is primarily an industrial port and can take the largest ships. There is also a cruise terminal which accommodates the worlds Mega ships. . The whole complex is absolutely massive. There are vehicle parks with literally hundreds of cars and trucks and in one area there were over 50 identical fire engines waiting to be shipped somewhere. There also lots of construction going on all around the complex.Of particular interest was a massive wind farm. They were the largest wind turbines I had seen and there would been over a hundred in the farm adjacent to the port A parade of coaches greets the tourist as you disembark and with military precision, you are directed to your allocated coach depending on the tour selected and then you settle back for the longish trip to Bangkock or Pattaya. That trip and the return trip (we chose Pattaya) in itself is an eye opener and it enables you to get some idea of the living conditions for country folk, town folk and then city folk as well as some unbelievable scenery. It’s all part of the experience.

  2. We were in this port as our Cruise Ship made a stop there. The cruise terminal building was modern, the disembarkation process was very smooth. The facility was mosern, clean and well functioned.

  3. Port taxis are a rip off, don’t get off with the crowds, stay on the ship till later then you get a better price when the crowds have all gone.nothing to do in the port as its the size of Birmingham.Go into pattaya about 6pm onwards to walking street, we paid 3000 baht for the taxi and got picked up, but im sure you can get it cheaper if you haggle.

  4. Stay on the ship, watch a movie or nap. This terminal is in the middle of nowhere. My wife and I took a stinky 1-hour walk around the port, stepping around garbage and dodging motorbikes.A cruise terminal should offer some walking space. This place must have been designed by the taxi guild.

  5. Our ship docked in Leam Chabang we were met by so many taxis which you have to pay for up front, they wanted £150 to take us to ‘ The Sanctuary of Truth’ 40 minutes away! We eventually found “Goe” the most lovely taxi driver ever,, his charges were £80 he was worth a very good tip because he kept us safe and escorted us everywhere, he kept us in the shade and got our tickets to go in, on the way back to the ship he asked us if we would like to see the floating market, again he kept us safe.we had a perfect day with him, the floating market was a wonderful experience. The next day we asked him to take us to the Botanical gardens, you need to book the taxi for 8.30 to catch the wonderful shows at the Botanical Gardens, “Goe” got our entrance tickets and walked us through to the wonderful dancing show and then on to the elephant show, he stayed with us we would never have found it, he then left us for 2 hours to wander the gardens, he advised it was best to go in the shade on the sky walk ..good advice. His English is perfect and although he looks about 20 he’s in his 40s this Taxi driver you will love as we did, you will feel safe and looked after, he’s happy and bubbly and comfortable to be with, he said my job is to make sure you enjoy your day.He will also take you to Bangkok but we went there last year and found it such a long drive and so crowded. Don’t miss Sanctuary of truth it’s amazing.

  6. When your cruise ship docks here there are lots of taxis ect just outside the terminal building offering rides to pattaya and Bangkok. The terminal also has a bus to pattaya and signs for offically taxi to Bangkok for USD 95. If you hail a Grab they can’t come into the port without a 500 Baht fee. You gang walk out to the gate as security prevents you. If you catch a taxi from the guys out front to the gate it works be 300 Baht. A Grab from the gate to Bangkok Grand Palace is 1650 Baht plus 80 for tolls.
