  1. We got the tickets from Travel Fair, it was 150 THB per person (normal price is 200 THB). The salesperson suggested that we should arrive the place after 16:30 hrs. just to avoid the sun and heat.On Monday 29 April, 2019, our group arrived Mallika at around 17:30 hrs., one of the friends had to buy a ticket (because he joined the trip later). The ticket was just 100 THB which was even less expensive than buying at the fair! We went in and wanted to exchange the money to ancient coins (like coupons to buy stuff inside). No one was there at the booth to service, when someone was found, they said that there is nothing else to buy and they are closing up. So I called an office and asked about their business hours and a lady said that their operating hour is until 20:00 hrs. Basically we just gave up and just walked around inside. I have to say it would be an interesting place if it was fully operated. I didn’t have that good first impression with the service so I’m not sure if I will visit again.

  2. Spent about 2-3 Hours here, I would recommend paying the 600baht fee for entrance, buffet lunch and traditional clothes. Food was delicious and was a very interesting visit to see what city life was like during King Rama V. Highly recommended.

  3. Entrance is 250, additional 150 if you want to wear thai costumes. We went here in the afternoon most stalls were empry, i guess it would be more fun to visit in the morning.

  4. We found this by an internet search. Thereis no reference to it in kanchanaburi as they ste promoting their own tourism. But this place is only 34 km from town and the place was definitely worth a visit. We chose a dinner show with period costume which ran about 20 dollars US and got there around 3:30 as the dinner was 6 and show started at 7 and is over before 8pm. The music and dancers were traditional and vrry hood. The food was traditional as well and also very tasty for this western palate. We thought the village was magnificent and very authentic. I thought it would make a very good movie background and learned it had been several times. We went on a Monday right after the big kanchanaburi river kwai bridge festival. Yhe only negative was when we arrived there were only a half dozen patrons snd we were the only onrs who stayed for the dinner and show. It appeared that it didn’t diminish the cast or the quality of the show or food. We literally had a private show and dinner. This is sad as the place was a huge high lite for our visit to the region. At this rate they won’t stay in business. Wr highly recommend the venue and the photo ops here are worth this visit alone; and easy to reach inexpensively. Robert USA

  5. We arrive around 5.30 so all the shops are closed but still it’s a beautiful place with beautiful traditional Thai houses and white buffalos!! We did not rent the costumes but seems like every else did which is fun to see. We bought the dinner and dance show ticket online for discounted price around thb 600. The dinner sets in a huge beautiful Thai house and they start serving at 6 while the show at 6.30. The food is so delicious and plentiful. I cannot say enough how much I love every dish. The show is also nice. I’d recommend this dinner and show to everyone visiting Kanchanaburi.

  6. Mallika is re-made ancient city. The Thai houses are beautiful and well maintained. We spend about two hours to walk around and had lunch there. We paid 200 Baht a person for an admission ticket. We spent about 100 Baht a person. The restaurant in the back is well located in a pond. The views are beautiful. The food was average. The staff were friendly and helpful.

  7. Mallika is an amazing reconstruction of old buildings with beautiful gardens and plants, interesting demostrations of old techniques and farm animals. Good food is available with a coffee shop that has delicious dried fruits and snacks at the entrance. A short ricksaw ride is also fun. Situated on the R323 just 30km west of the kwai bridge with free easy car parking it is a must see for all types of traveller.

  8. Mallika City, throwback to Assoc. 124, with Thai costumes for rent There is a 30 baht rickshaw service at the end of the city. Walk back up and travel around the city by yourself. The atmosphere is beautiful in retro, drinks, food, antiques are available for tasting, shopping, beautiful and clean.

  9. We were the only people there visiting. It was a Friday at 345 pm. When we left at 445, we finally saw others. The buildings and architecture were really gorgeous. It felt like truly stepping back in time. There were not very many businesses/storefronts open. The food stalls were starting to pack up since we were there so late in the day. The tickets were only 200 baht and included free shaved ice (not as good as Taiwanese and had very medicinal cherry flavor) and mango with sticky rice (excellent!). I definitely enjoyed looking at everything. Probably wouldn’t spend more than 1-2 hours there

  10. When buying a ticket for 250 baht they do not tell you that people over 70 have a 120 baht discount. As soon as we found out we asked them to give us 240 back ,they refused saying we had to show our passports upfront. As everyting is written in Thai you are not( made) aware. They were unfriendly and the whole Mallika City is a rip off.DO NOT GO THERE AS IT IS A WASTE OF MONEY!!!!!
