Huai Krathing Reservoir is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking Thailand
This reservoir is situated about 12km from Loei city. What makes this place uniaye with locals is the fact you can rent a house Boat for an hour or more and have food served on the boat while enjoying the lake/ reservoir. You have aboutv5 landing areas where you can park your car or be dropped off. Order your food and Sri m&s and wait for your house Boat. Then take off and enjoy the relaxing time on your private house Boat. The food will be brought to you by long tail boat .need extra just dial the nber indicated on in the boat and they will serve you. We had a great time for 2 hours. We had food at the pictures k flag boats. ( others are Green/Red, Orange, blue,..depending on which restaurant docking area you take) unique experience!
The food was great. Staff were friendly, price was fair. There are a few places to pull off it appears and we went to the last row of floating houses. You can miss the sign easily but if you use your maps on your phone it’ll be easy! Enjoy!
This is a must if your in Loei. You rent a bamboo raft and are towed to the middle of the lake, where you can eat and relax and swim the whole day. Huge menu is available, but it is only in Thai. I went with local friends and we had a feast. A small boat travels around serving fresh shrimp fritters and the famous “dancing shrimp” salad, which is live baby shrimp tossed with lime and chili. Very exotic. The water is really clean, and the scenery is beautiful. Your left alone, but if you need anything you raise a flag on your raft and a canoe will come out and get you drinks or food whenever you want
If it happens to be visiting Loei take the time to have lunch on a “raft-hut” on the lake! It is a unique experience!Huai Kathing (water bull) is near Loei on the way to Chiang Khan. There, you can order your food on the shore and board on a specially for the occasion designed and built “raft-hut” and be toed by a boat to the middle of the Lakewood will be served by a “waiter” who brings you your food on a speed boat! After you have eaten and enjoyed your stay there, even have swum in the lake, you signal (or make a phone call) to be taken back to the shore!Arriving Huai Krathing, do not go to the first two “boat restaurants”, but prefer the third one! It is cheaper (350THB per boat without time limit) and the people running it are much more helpful than the others. While the first two are private businesses, the third one is a cooperative organisation run by the local people!Enjoy your lunch!

Hua Crating is where you can eat on a raft on the middle of the lake.where you can relex and eat delicious Thai food. Waiter will served your food on speed boat.you can swim from the raft. This place is so beautiful.
Had good lunch there. You can have meal on the raft. Swim too (from the raft). Nice place to stay for short time after visit Phu Ruea National park.
Hua Crating is a reservoir about 20 km outside of Loei.Nice and quiet countryside, but mainly for Thais who with large groups hire a raft and then have lunch in the middle of the reservoir.I believe there’s no toilets on the raft!?
The lake is down considerably but this is still a great place to spend an afternoon. Rent a raft, have food ferried out to you, and eat, drink, swim or relax to your heart’s content.
When Loei people invite tourists to go “rafting,” they aren’t talking white water in raging rivers. They mean flat boats made with bamboo moored in the center of a placid lake. The experience is actually very relaxing and quite soothing during the hotter months. In addition to a nice view, there is a constant, subtle breeze to keep you cool and keep the insects at bay.We always combined our trips with a meal – the restaurant will bring the food out to you.If you visit Loei, definite accept an invitation to go “rafting.”
