  1. This is one of the stops during our River Kwai Boat tour which we have booked with our hotel. We could walk the slope up to the temple which will take around 20mins or take a motor shuttle (return trip estimate 20baht/person). We are very glad to opt for the motor shuttle, the weather is too hot and humid and the underground cave is worse. The underground cave has been an exciting experience for us, other than Buddha status we even get to see bats and rats… which got us screaming alittle. Haha

  2. We walked through the caves, very interesting. The caves were used by the Japanese in WW2. It’s very hot and humid inside the caves, be prepared to sweat a lot.

  3. After viewing the impressive from the ‘mountain’ down the Mae Klong river, visit the cave. But BE WARNED it is not a trek for the unfit or fat. There is a VERY narrow passage that must be negotiated to finish the journey (no warning offered before you enter). Then, after a gentle stroll underground you are faced with perhaps 100 stair steps up a steep staircase to exit! Impressive but a demanding trek!

  4. River rafting on Long tail boat stopping at Khao Pun cave and JEATH museum.- River Kwae Noi was an impressive river journey. If you are short on time and wanna speed things up a bit, try the long-tail boat ride. Khao pun cave is worth the climb

  5. The cave temple is located on the banks of the river and one needs to climb a few steps to reach the hill from where a scooter can be hired or a small walk leads to the entrance of the cave. The cave is well lit and there are various sculptures inside.

  6. Really enjoyed, take water, it’s very hot this time of year but marginally cooler inside the caves. A local child will probably accompany you and guide you through the caves, we gave him a small tip at the end but it wasn’t compulsory. Takes about 20 mins to go through. be best to do this one on your own, we did. It isn’t a cave you can get lost in since there is only one way in and one way out and the way is shown to you by many arrows and the numbers of the Buddhas. I would definitely recommend

  7. when you arrive at the temple ,step by step you become to realize how magic is the place untill you arrive at the top of the hill ,than you figure out the magic of the place

  8. The cave where the Japanese kept their ammunition and where now there is a Buddha and children selling flowers as gifts to Buddha by the Wooden viaduct built by the POW’s

  9. Visited as part of a boat trip down the Kwai. The entrance to the cave from the river is up a steep set of stairs, then a walk (or catch the old man on his motorbike for a lift) to the actual temple. You then descend down into the caves – not suitable if you on the heftier side physically as going beyond the first cavern requires some ducking and squeezing through narrow passages, but it was fascinating and strangely beautiful.

  10. It was okay for a short cave tour. The bats are plentiful but not the oxygen. The strong musty bat smell was over powering. Almost sickening. It was hard to breathe in the cave. The young kid who took us through on tour was great although he spoke only Thai. It’s a short drive from town and The Curve restaurant is nearby for a coffee and great views.
