  1. mesmerizing & beautiful natural cave. get to experience sitting on bamboo craft along certain stretch of the cave & also walk in at least knee-deep water at some point. world smallest bat can be seen here in this cave. the guide is very friendly & gave a lot of info about the cave. only letdown is that visitors are not allowed to take photos in the cave.

  2. As we had visited Phuket many times, we came across this “Elephant Cave” when we were searching for new attraction. It took 2 hours for our driver to drove us there. The ticket office didn’t look like much, and the staffs were very concern about our footwear, as you will have to walk in the water. First we were leaded to a canoe, which the staffs took us into the dark cave. When we reached a little walk path, the staffs had informed us to alight the canoe and we continued forward by foot. The cave was well levelled, so even though we were walking in the water, it felt safe. The staff was very friendly, and he told us the history of the cave, we had a good laugh when he showed us the animals that were made out of limestone. This is a place we would recommend, if you want to see something different, and you have the time to spare.

  3. We came across this attraction online, it took us almost 2 hours taxi ride to reach there. But it was an interesting place, the locals call this place the Elephant cave as the mountain looks like an elephant when you see it from far. The tour started off by canoe, then we had to walk in the water. Our guide was friendly, he showed us all the interesting animal structures that were made out of limestone. If you have time to spare this is an interesting place to see.

  4. If you are looking for things to do around Phuket, put this cave hike on your list. It doesn’t take long to hike it, but it provides really impressive views. The journey includes a short canoe ride, and a quick transfer to some bamboo rafts. Then you get into the water, about knee high, for the rest of the hike. I’m guessing it was about 1.5 kilometers and took about an hour round trip. You must be fairly mobile for this hike, and I am not sure I would take kids under 8 on this adventure.

  5. At 500 thb it’s not worth it. save your money and go to a different temple You can walk around a little area there for free but make sure you have battery life on your phone to use the torch on it

  6. Great little stop off on the way to lots of things to do in phangnga, you can take a assisted kayak trip into the mountain, but it’s awesome

  7. Yes, the price is expesive and Yes, the level of disorganisation will make you seriously feel like you are about to get scammed. But if you wait I while with an open mind you will realise that all of the people who operate the tours are wearing yellow and although you do not get a proper ticket after handing over a small fortune (500 baht per person and our thai driver had to haggle hard to drop his price down to 300 baht).Once we had paid they were very efficient and equipped us with head lamps. And checked shoes. Wearing clothing and shoes that can get wet up to knees.Although no photos are allowed you can take photos at the entrance and they take a formal one that you can buy too. I did not find that the lack of photographs impacted on my experience. The canoe trip. Bamboo raft and walking through water in the cave were special. I do not care whether or not they arteficially flood the cave it was a levely experience and the guide showed us many different shaped formations. It definitely helped to have Mr Luang as a translator as we would have missed out on much of the information. I am very glad we did this trip. Was worth it and worth the money.

  8. Had group of ten ranging in age from 7 to 73. Outstanding day trip. Well organized and great safe adventure. Youngest one a little scared at first. One hour very easy walk sometimes in water below the knee. Easy but added to the adventure. Added advantage that nice and cool in the cave so a great trip to do at midday. Not recommended if claustrophobic.

  9. Great experience. Even if you have been in caves and liked it, but have never been on a boat in cave — I encourage you to try it.Very nice personnel. They are not only polite and helpful, they really love this cave, know every wall and show a lot of fun places. One of guys asked my wife to light on the special hole in stalactite and we saw a heart symbol made by shadows. And the moment, when you turn off all the lights in the end of your way — it’s full darkness. It’s so dark that you almost physically feel it. Unique.
