Prasat Hin Phanom Wan is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking Ban Makha Village, Korat-Khon Kaen Road Ban Pho, Thailand
not too many tourist come to this place. So, it’s more relaxing and comfortable to walk and take pictures here. I met many children here, they played n laughed together. beautiful, good place for meditation.
One of the lesser known temples, so you will probably be alone there. As most temples in Thailand, very well conserved. Nicely located in the middle of nature.
I took sonteo taxi, 10 bahts, at the old bus station in Korat to the nearest village. It took about 30 min. Then I took motorcycle to the Phanom Wan. It is not big, so one hour is enought to see all.
There is small ancient complex. No information at English, only Thai. Silent place not far from main road. Good to visit if you drive near, but not good enough for special visit.
Awesome place. Just stumbled upon it on the way to a friends place. My friend was super excited. Kop khun.
This temple complex reminds me a little of Angkor Wat. Though it is not as spectacular, Prasat Hin Phanom Wan is well worth the visit if you happen to be in Nakhon Ratchasima (Korat).
I enjoyed the walk around to see all about the history of this place its worth a look.the area is quite large too make sure you have comfort shoes on and becarefull of the stepsthere not very western type of steps
A nice walk around taking in the sight and history. It may not be the biggest ruins, but Prasat Hin Phanom Wan is well worth a vist. It was not packed with tourist, when I was there, which made it even more enjoyable. I would recommend a visit and good for families with young ones. Its only about 30 – 40 min drive from downtown Korat.
While this is not as well known as the ruins in Phimai and Buriram, this makes a nice little trip in Nakhom Ratchasima. Good for photo taking and unless you meet the school groups, it is usually quiet. Recommended.
