Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Natural History Museum is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking 15, Kanjanawanich Road Prince of Songkla University, 90110, Thailand
This relatively new Museum is based on two floors… and is located on the Campus of the “Prince of Songkla University”. The University is supported by Thailand’s King. A visit will help one understand much better an aspect of Thailand’s history… One floor focuses on a “Royal Bio-fuel Project” while the other portrays aspects of a previous king and his studies abroad and broader interests [e.g. medicine]. It is worthy of a visit!!
It’s a natural museum in an university. Contents is well organised & information. Tour guide is available based on schedule. Will easily take 2 hour for the tour
This place is not big, but I spent at least 2 hours there. It’s very quiet unless there are school children. Walk at your own leisure and get amazed by the exhibits, most of it has English notes, though not all. Good for those who wants to spend some quiet time under shelter from the heat or rain. The only problem I have is to find a parking lot for my car. Most car park lots were taken up and we have to park quite a far walking distance from the museum.
Most visitors to Hat Yai won’t think of coming here but you should. It’s a very informative museum with English captions and a really good collection of stuffed wildlife, rocks, seashells etc. There’s even a play area with toy dinosaurs if your kids would like to play some more.
