The location is great and many Thai people come here to relax. The street food are very nice x x there are sea food and sugar palm drink x x x and thai sweet,Offer boat ride and field trips to catch shells as well as fresh air.
You get freshest seafood in Thailand right here ! There are a lot of restaurants serving up delicious seafood and very reasonable prices. You can also buy your own seafood (steamed/grilled/fried) right there beside the street for very cheap. The beauty of it is, even though the listed prices are already cheap, you can actually get cheaper if you ask. This place is very local.. and it’s on your way to beautiful Huahin.. It is on the left (about 1.5 km off the main road) right after the overhead bypass to Amphawa on your way from Bangkok.
I am glad I was with the family of a Thai friend. They knew where to go to get good seafood. The restaurant seemed to be a popular spot for the local population. We sat at a low table on the floor right next to the lagoon. Far away you could see many people digging razor clams in the mud. The breeze from the ocean (far away due to low tide) was very soothing. We had many different seafood dishes and they were all different and delicious. I am not sure what was what but I attach some photos here. There were hanging photos of the dishes, so it took care of the language barrier. If I happen be in the area again, I will most certainly eat here. Yummy food!
My family had an amazing time there. But we’re Asians and the dried stuff really appealed to us. We bought lots of dried anchovies, cuttlefish and snacks from one of the stalls there. They pointed us across the road to the restaurant for lunch and it was amazing! Prices were really reasonable too! We just kept pointing at pictures and ended up over ordering as everything looked good to us.Next time, we’re going to time our visit there for low tide so that we can go out to look for clams like the locals.
Unfortunately I can’t eat seafood but managed to find something else to eat, the place is beautiful and not many ‘Farang’ can be seen here, so the price of food is small and looked really good and extremely fresh
Don Hoi Lot & Mahachai is the capital of seafood fish market in the country. Seafood processing factory, restaurant and workers for all ships are here. Daeng restaurant, Somneuk and Kia Nguan restaurant are 3 of good examples of many greats restaurant in town.
Cute little market filled with seafood. You can rent a mat and enjoy your lunch overlooking the ocean. Would be a nice sunrise location. Lots of restaurants but we ate from the market shops.
I was here like I was seven and everywhere was still a country. When it’s low tide you can see a mud lake and people could just step deep in the mud and drop a white cement in the hole then the razor clam would just pop up, it’s fun though. But these days you can rarely see such activity coz of tide change I think.
A Thai friend brought me here because I love Thai seafood. At first the area seemed a bit rundown, but then we reached the charming coastline with a small scale local market and several authentic Thai seafood restaurants not even mentioned on Tripadvisor. Glorious fresh seafood appeared on the table. If you feel uncomfortable walking in a restaurant you didn’t read a review of or which isn’t on the Google Map, just look for the sign ‘Clean Food, Good Taste’ (see my photo) which means the restaurant passed Thai control quality standards. Go for the oysters, blood cockle or razor clamps as appetisers, then pick your fish. Most of the seafood restaurants have picture menus in case there’s no English translation and prices are very affordable. I would have given this area a 5 but sadly on the mud beach there was some rubbish disgracing the place a bit. Besides the food and strolling the market I also recommend you go for a boat ride towards an isolated fisher village, just ask one of the fisher’s on the boats. Very friendly folk over here.
