Nang Rong Waterfalls is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking Hin Tang subdistrict, Thailand
This waterfall is only an average waterfall. And it did look dangerous when the kids did tubing in it. With all those large stones in the water. The rest of the National Park is really great. I have been here 3 times, mostle for taking pictures of birds. But also because it’s very nice to go away from busy Bangkok to this park
If you want to get away from the foreign crowd and experience what Locals enjoy then Nang rong in the place. The view on top of the Dam is breathtaking. There is a Local market on the way from Bangkok which is again for the Locals hence the prices are cheaper than Bangkok, you need to bargain though.
A bit small, the water was not flowing well as the area was dry with not much rainfall. The drive through the national park was lovely. Elephants, dear and monkeys to be seen.
Khai Yai National Park overall is a great place to visit. Everywhere is ncie, but if you’ll looking for impressive falls, there are better ones. Still a pleasant spot to visit.
I took my 15 month old son to the falls and we met a lot of other young families along the way. The path is pretty good as it’s made of concrete. Parts along the way have steps and the last descent to the falls is really steep. It’s not stroller friendly but also not a really long walk; just a little over a kilometer.
Just another part of the region that will delight with its simple raw beauty. Actually not in Nang rong but classed as such. GPS is very good for getting to places like this. You can swim and even tube raft if brave (or silly) enough. Spectacular views and scenic background. Try your camera skills on the several levels of the falls. Impressive side stop on my discovery of Northern Thailand.
We 3 friends visited Nang Rong Waterfall. Enjoyed a lot! It gave immense pleasure while having rounds in water canels.
This waterfall is not a huge one but still pretty. Many local people visit this waterfall and chill.
The waterfalls are small with no huge drops making them a safer option for families with young kids. There are a lot of shallow pools on along the edge of the river where young children can play safely with some supervision. (our son is 5 and loved it)There are bridges across the river at various points up the falls to make exploring easy. Also, at the main parking area there are restaurants, coffee shops and stalls selling swimsuits, inflatables etc at normal prices (not overpriced)The area is well maintained by National Parks staffEntrance to the falls is free
The water fall was a short walk from the road , and the area was nice and cool . I have seem many waterfalls in my travels and Nang Rong is just OK , it could be that their was not much water coming over due to the hot weather and long periods of no rain.
